    Charolette Mae Murphy Cochran, 61, of Casey County, Ky., died Monday, March 19, 2012, in Lexington, Ky.
    She was a daughter of the late Murl and Effie Lay Murphy.
    She was married to Michael Cochran, who survives.
    Survivors also include daughters, Delta Dawn Carman of King Mountain, Ky. April Denise Wilson of Hustonville, Ky., and Lisa Kerns of Jamestown, Ky.
    Funeral was Friday, March 23, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home in Liberty. Bros. Dwight Coffman, Jerry Adams, and Howard Godby officiated.
    Burial was in Poplar Grove Cemetery.

    Tony Orlando Anderson, 49, of Taylor County, died Friday, March 16, 2012,  at St Mary’s Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
    He was the son of Marlene Anderson of Campbellsville and the late Sam Anderson Jr.
    Funeral was Wednesday, March 21, at Fannie Chapel C.M.E. Church in Campbellsville. The Rev. James Buford officiated. Burial was in Crown Hill Cemetery in Campbellsville.

  • Willard L. Phillips, 70

    Willard L. Phillips, 70, of Shelbyville, Ind., died at 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, in Shelbyville.
    Son of the late Walker Phillips and Bessie Frances Hiestand Phillips, he was born on Jan. 5, 1942, in Taylor County. He was a self-employed musician.
    Survivors include two sisters, Myrtle Carrie Phillips Mendoza and her husband, Tony, and Margaret Phillips King; a brother-in-law, the Rev. Earl Pike; special cousins, Faye Price and Bro. Robert Grammer; and several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

    Florence Gilpin, 80, of Louisville, Ky., formerly of Campbellsville, died Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville.
    Survivors include her children, Johnny Newton, Bobby Newton, Susie Neace, Buster Newton and Carolyn Porter.
    Funeral is today, Thursday, March 22, at Ratterman Grand Chapels, located at 4832 Cane Run Road in Louisville.
    Burial is in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.

    Bertha Nell Blakeman, 101, of Green County, Ky., died Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, Ky.
    She was the daughter of the late John and Laura Walker Hancock. She was married to Stanley Blakeman, who preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, John Stanley Blakeman.

    Shirley Ann Maupin, 71, of Evansville, Ind., died at 4:21 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, in Evansville.
    Daughter of the late Oscar Newton and Gladys Rafferty Newton, was born in Shelbyville, Ind., on June 3, 1940. She was the statewide director of Kentucky Toll services and a retired property manager. She was a member of The Honorable Order of the Kentucky Colonels.

    Helena Close Warren, 83, of Campbellsville, died Saturday, March 10, 2012, in Campbellsville.
    She was the daughter of the late Tom and Alice Close of Taylor County.
    She was married to William “Bud” Warren, who preceded her in death.
    Survivors include a son, Wendell Warren of Campbellsville; two daughters, Vicky L. Yount of Taylorsville, Ky., and Teressa Germain of Campbellsville.
