    Amanda Campbell and Thomas Lawrence of Campbellsville announce their engagement.

    Campbell is the daughter of Jack and Renea Campbell of Campbellsville. Her grandparents are Fred and Betty Gregory and Ernie and Kathy Campbell, all of Prescott, Ariz.

    She is a licensed cosmetologist, having graduated from the Paul Mitchell School in Rexburg, Idaho. Campbell is employed at Goody's.

    Two Campbellsville couples recently graduated from prenatal and childbirth classes taught by Taylor Regional Hospital in January. Pictured are Tara Fisher, Nicole Hines, Connie Gribbins and Elizabeth and Christopher Ross.

    Classes are taught on Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. at TRH's meeting room. This is a five-week series and is free to anyone delivering at TRH.

    The class is taught by Nicole Collins, RN, CCE. For more information, call the TRH Women's Center at 465-3561 Ext. 2232.

    Feb. 13, 2003

    Jessica Alyn Hammond of Campbellsville and Bobby W. Powell of Taylorsville will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, March 22.

    Roger Dale Witham Jr. celebrated his fourth birthday on Jan. 16 with his friends at Gloworms. He is the son of Roger and Elaine Witham of Campbellsville.

    Allen and Shana Crabtree of Campbellsville announce the birth of a daughter, Molly Elaine, at 11:19 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1.

    Lisa Haliday has been named Taylor Regional Hospital's ambassador for winter. Mitch Gaddis and Marline Withers were also nominated.

    Haliday was nominated by a team member. The following was written about Lisa on her nomination form.

    "Lisa truly is a 'care manager.' She addresses all aspects of the patient and family needs. I had her personally arrange for my mother's rehab following her surgery. She is always kind and professional.

    Campbellsville University

    Dr. G. Ted Taylor, professor of Christian studies, director of the Leadership/Character/Development Institute and lead professor of sports ministry program at Campbellsville University, is serving as transitional pastor at Beacon Hill Baptist Church in Somerset.

    Taylor recently completed a successful transitional pastorate at Campbellsville Baptist Church. He has served local churches both full time and bi-vocationally for 40 years.

    Miranda Sloan of Columbia and Caleb Boston of Knifley announce their engagement.

    Sloan is the daughter of Robert and Sarah Sloan of Columbia.

    Boston is the son of Terry and Syrena Boston of Knifley.

    The ceremony will be at Thursday, Feb. 14, at 8 p.m. at Hovious Mission Church in Knifley. A reception will follow at the church.

    All family and friends are invited to attend.

    Taylor County Fair won two awards during the annual Kentucky Association of Fairs and Horse Shows convention Jan. 10-12 at Galt House in Louisville.

    The Taylor County Fair catalog received first place in the state of Kentucky in the glossy finish category. Last year, the catalog was named as state runner up in the division.

    "We are thrilled after 15 years to have produced what was judged as the best fair catalog in the state of Kentucky," said Mike Litchfield, president of the Taylor County Fair Association.

    Forest and Altha Bland of Campbellsville recently celebrated 80 years of togetherness.

    Bailee Gowin celebrated her sixth birthday on Jan. 27 with a bowling party and a sleepover.

    Sgt. Jeremy Scott Carter, 23, of Campbellsville, is serving in the United States Marines. He is stationed at Camp Lejune, N.C.

    Jim and Gladys Roberts celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Jan. 17.

    Kevin Sheilley of Team Taylor County will serve as chair of the Taylor County Friends of Scouting campaign.

    Harmony Homemakers met on Jan. 14 at the Taylor County Extension Office with 12 members present.

    Taylor County Public Library and the Central Kentucky Arts Series are co-hosting an exhibit on the music and background of the American spiritual.

  • Hannah and Weston Jones of Campbellsville announce the birth of a son, Hudson Tate Jones, at 5 a.m. on Dec. 16 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. He weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces and was 20.5 inches long.

    Grandparents are Carla Carroll of Elk Horn and Tommy Bland, Karen Jones and Mitchell Jones of Campbellsville.

    Great-grandparents are Wanda Carroll of Elk Horn and Rufus and Doris Hansford of Campbellsville.
