  • Jordan Myra Seymour is the 10-month-old daughter of Jim and Marsha Webster Seymour of North Aurora, Ill. Her grandparents are Doyle M. Webster of Campbellsville and Art and Mary Ann Seymour of Deerfield, Ill.

  • Author and Campbellsville native Janna McMahan was recently featured on a South Carolina TV station.

    "The Big Picture" TV program discussed how South Carolina has influenced the writing of three authors, including McMahan, John Jakes and Dorothea Benton Frank.

    McMahan's book "Calling Home," a story set in a small town in Kentucky, was published earlier this year.

  • Taylor Regional Hospital will present a Basic Life Support for Heartsavers Class on Thursday, July 17 from 8 a.m. to noon at the TRH Learning & Resource Center located at 125B Kingswood Drive in Campbellsville.

    The class will be presented by Richard Phillips, TRH staff development coordinator.

    The BLS for Heartsaver Course is for the lay rescuer who needs a credential documenting successful completion of a BLS course. The BLS for Heartsaver Course will teach rescuers how to recognize and treat life-threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest and choking.

  • Campbellsville University's Technology Training Center will host kids' classes in October.

    - A Celebrate the Seasons class will be Oct. 6-9 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. for children ages 8 and up. Participants will celebrate a season for each day with a cooking and craft class. Children will make "dirt" in the spring and colored egg soap. Space is limited. Cost is $65.

  • Taylor Regional Hospital will present a first aid class on Wednesday, July 16 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the TRH Learning & Resource Center located at 125B Kingswood Drive in Campbellsville.

    The class will be presented by Richard Phillips, TRH staff development coordinator.

    This course will provide the participant with a sound foundation in the techniques of first aid. Upon course completion, participants will receive a course completion certificate.

    Cost is $50. Those wishing to attend should pre-register by calling the TRH Learning & Resource Center at 789-5862.

  • James Cochran and Galoris Cochran of Elk Horn have announced their re-marriage with a wedding date set for Friday, July 18.

    The Cochrans have two daughters and sons-in-law and a son and daughter-in-law, Tina and Russell Blakley of Somerset, Scot and Beth Cochran and Nadena and David Agee, all of Campbellsville.

    They also have eight grandchildren, Alex Roots, Whitney Roots, Samantha Benedict, Tori Cochran, Emili Cochran, J.T. Agee, Spencer Agee and Mariah Agee.

  • Milton and Nicki Cole celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on June 10.

    Mr. Cole, son of the late Alexander Stewart and Mattie Vance Cole, was born and raised in Campbellsville.

    He attended Campbellsville College and graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in business administration. He also served in the Merchant Marines.

    The couple met in Campbellsville and married in 1938.

    They now live in Sarasota, Fla. and have two daughters, Pam and Debbie.

  • Hayden, 5 months, and Madison Ball, 3, are the children of Trey and April Ball of Campbellsville. Their grandparents are Dubby and Denise Ball of Campbellsville and Boyd and Jackie Curry of Greensburg. Great-grandparents are Jean Payton and Sissy Ball, both of Campbellsville.

  • On June 1, Central Kentucky violin students, ages 5 to 16, performed for parents, relatives and friends in a recital at Campbellsville Baptist Church.

    The students, who are from Taylor, Green, Adair, Casey, Pulaski and Cumberland counties, played a variety of pieces from Baroque by Telemann and Bach to blues and novelty pieces by Phillips and Kroll.

    Also featured on the program were solos and string ensemble pieces, including a medley of hymns, ending with the well-known "Amazing Grace." Highlights of the program can be seen at www.youtube.com/drnoelrd.
