Weavers Joyce Baker, left, of Campbellsville, and her mother, Doris Baker of Greensburg, are displaying hand-woven baskets on exhibit at Campbellsville University's Art Gallery through Dec. 14. The show, titled "Three Women Weaving," also features the work of another daughter, Carren Hattersley of Nicholasville. They have been working together for three years. Jordan D. Kearney has joined the United States Army under the Delayed Entry Program.

The program gives young men and women the opportunity to delay entering active duty for up to one year.

The enlistment gives the new soldier the option to learn a new skill, travel and become eligible to receive as much as $50,000 toward a college education. After completion of basic military training, soldiers receive advanced individual training in their career job specialty prior to being assigned to their first permanent duty station.

Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz will visit Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Sunday.

Kurtz will be on hand during the 10 a.m. Mass and special consecration of the parish's new altar.

A reception will follow in the parish hall.
