  • Campbellsville Baptist Church will host "No Man Left Behind 2008" tomorrow and Saturday in the Christian Life Center.

    On Friday, there will be a fish fry dinner beginning at 6 p.m. Guest speaker will be Morris Anderson, evangelist and big game hunter, at 6:30. Door prizes will include a $2,500 hunting excursion.

    On Saturday, the church will host a corn hole tournament, car show, golf, fishing, bike rides (both motorcycles and bicycles), bench press competition and more.

    Lunch and closing will be at 12:30 p.m.

    A hammer and some nails, lumber and shingles, and a crew of servant leaders are making it possible for Kentucky Heartland Outreach to provide home repairs to families in the Central Kentucky region this summer.

    Aug. 13, 1998

    Tamirra Danelle Smith of Campbellsville competed in the Miss Kentucky USA pageant July 18 in Paducah and came home with the Miss Congeniality award.

    Philip and Geneva Corbin of Campbellsville will celebrate their 69th wedding anniversary on Aug. 17.

    Daniel A. Dicken has enlisted for three years in the United States Army and will be trained as a utilities equipment repairer.

    Kecia Gray and Joshua Davis were honored with a dinner and shower on June 27. The couple was married July Fourth.

  • Financial Peace University, the 13-week program taught by Dave Ramsey, has helped more than 650,000 families positively change their financial future.

  • Taylor Hudgins of Campbellsville was crowned Miss Cumberland County Teen on July 31. She will advance to the state competition in Louisville in October. She is the daughter of Tim and Cynthia Hudgins of Campbellsville. Her grandparents are Rachel Hovious of Campbellsville and Bernice Hudgins of Greensburg.

  • William and Dorinda Streeval along with Ron and Peggy Wooley announce the engagement of their children, Kelly Streeval and Willie Wooley.

    Streeval is the granddaughter of Jr. Streeval of Columbia and the late Joan Streeval and James H. and Jewell E. Burton. She is the great-granddaughter of Versie Streeval of Columbia.

    Wooley is the grandson of Willie and Redith George of Columbia and the late Willie and Dorothy Wooley.

  • Shannon Catherine Thomas and Christopher Keith Clark exchanged wedding vows on Saturday, March 29 at Campbellsville University's Ransdell Chapel.

    The Rev. Lee Young, the bride's cousin, performed the ceremony.

    The bride is the daughter of Richard and Vivian Thomas of Princeton. She is the granddaughter of Doris Thomas and Don Owen Thomas, both of Princeton, Mariam Haile of Bonita Springs, Fla. and the late Zane B. Haile.

  • Kristin Rucker was honored with a bridal shower on July 20 at the home of Binky and Rhonda Smith. Rucker married Benson Sexton at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9 at St. Andrew United Methodist Church.   • The Live in Lebanon free outdoor concert series continues in downtown Lebanon on Saturday.

    Andrew Scott Newton will perform country and pop music from 8:30 p.m. to midnight in the outdoor plaza beside Big Jim's Steakhouse & Buffet at 212 W. Main St. There is no admission and the concert will be moved inside in case of bad weather.

  • A gospel singing and benefit auction has been planned for Dawson Milby, the 18-month-old son of Jennifer and Jason Milby of Greensburg, who underwent a heart transplant in June.

    The benefit is planned for Saturday, Aug. 16 at 5 p.m. ET at Green County Middle School.

    The event is sponsored by Allendale Missionary Baptist Church and family and friends.
