    John “J.B.” Holmes had his best weekend of his sophomore season on the PGA TOUR to pocket more than $126,000 at THE PLAYERS Championship last week in Florida.

    Taylor Regional Hospital hosted a community health fair on Saturday, April 21.

    Campbellsville Elementary and Taylor County Elementary schools fourth-grade students visited Frankfort on May 9. They toured the State Capitol and received souvenir packets on behalf of State Rep. Russ Mobley.

    Ninety-seven-year-old E. Poe Young cast his vote at the New City North precinct in Tuesday’s Primary Election. He was voting for the 76th year. In contrast, just before Young, a high schooler had cast his vote for the very first time.

    Constance Falusckai is the recipient of this year’s Janice Holt Giles book award.

    Boyer Jones, 82, of Shearee Court in Campbellsville, died Friday, April 27, 2007, at University Hospital in Louisville after an illness.

    Jessica Brown of Campbellsville has been named to the dean’s list for the winter term at National College in Danville.

    Richerson Chiropractic, 202 Nancy Cox Dr., held a ribbon cutting recently for his new office. Dr. Kevin Richerson gradated from Life University College of Chiropractic before locating here.

    Ethel M. Caudell, 94, of Old Columbia Road in Campbellsville, died at 4:04 p.m. on Sunday, April 15, 2007, in Campbellsville.

    The Campbellsville/Taylor County Fire Department will host its annual pancake breakfast Saturday, April 28.

    Bea Wethington spent her 99th birthday in Chatham, La., with her daughter Melva Beard. Her birthday was April 2.

    Sheridan Peters, 72, of West Saloma Road in Campbellsville, died at 10:23 p.m. on Thursday April 12, 2007 in Greensburg, Ky.

    Clarence Speer of Campbellsville will celebrate his 94th birthday at Summit Manor Nursing Home on March 1.

    Annie Roberts of Campbellsville celebrated her 89th birthday with family and friends on March 22. Her two daughters, Jewell Corbin and Marilyn Garner, both of Campbellsville hosted a birthday dinner in her home.

    Leon Lasley Sr. celebrated his 58th birthday with a surprise dinner at Santa Fe Baptist Church on Jan. 21.

    In its largest graduation in history, Campbellsville University conferred 430 degrees in ceremonies on Friday and Saturday during its centennial commencement.

    Charlotte Callahan of Campbellsville was the recipient of a blood pressure monitor given away at the Taylor Regional Hospital Health Fair April 21.

    Lowell Avenue Baptist Church celebrated God’s work in the community on Sunday, April 29, with Pastor Dave Walters preaching from the roof.
