  • Birth Announcements for Jan. 3

    Gabrielle Roberts Sweets and Thomas Sweets of Chattanooga, Tenn. announce the birth of a son, Isaac Wesley Sweets, at 1:22 a.m. on Dec. 12 at Erlanger East Campus in Chattanooga. He weighed 9 pounds, 8 ounces and was 22 inches long.

    Grandparents are Dr. Wesley and Sida Roberts of Campbellsville and Thomas P. Sweets of Cincinnati, Ohio.

    Great-grandmother is Jewel Faye Roberts of Ocala, Fla.

  • Callahans celebrate anniversary

     

    Eugene Bradley and Linda Callahan of Elk Horn recently celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary.

    They were married Dec. 23, 1959, in Noblesville, Ind.

    The couple celebrated at their daughter's home with family, including their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

  • Myers, Holland wed

     

    Jessica Elizabeth Matney Myers and Arthur Warren Holland Jr. of Campbellsville were married Nov. 17 at Greensburg United Methodist Church. Bro. Jim Collision officiated.

    Myers is the daughter of Eugene and Shirley Kilby Matney of Campbellsville.

    She graduated from Taylor County High School in 1996.

    Holland is the son of Arthur Holland Sr. of Campbellsville and the late Rose Rider Holland.

    He graduated from Chariho Regional High School in Woodriver Junction, R.I.

  • Taylor Regional Hospital presents service awards

     

    Taylor Regional Hospital had its annual service award presentation on Nov. 12 at Campbellsville University.

    Honored for 40 years of service was Judy Dabney, not pictured.

  • Lawsons celebrate 65th anniversary

     

    Chester "Red" and Laura Lawson celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Sunday, Nov. 11.

    Mr. Lawson retired from Taylor County RECC after more than 43 years of service. Mrs. Lawson was a babysitter and homemaker.

    The Lawsons have a son and daughter-in-law, J.C. and Peggy Lawson of Campbellsville and two daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Eugene Gray and Marsha and Billy Estes of Campbellsville. They also have five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and a step-great-grandson.

  • Missionaries arrive in Campbellsville

     

    Elder and Sister Brinkman, two senior missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, recently arrived in Campbellsville and are willing to meet with residents to share the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

    The two are from Vancouver, Wash. and will be in Campbellsville for six months.

    Two young elders are also in Campbellsville. Elder Howell is from Utah and Elder Robison is from Idaho.

    The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is on Meader Street. Sunday meetings begin at 10 a.m. All are welcome.

  • Netherlands, Blevinses honored

     

    Good Hope Baptist Church recently honored two couples who reached their 70th wedding anniversary.

    Mr. and Mrs. James Netherland were married Nov. 14, 1942, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Blevins were married Nov. 17, 1942.

    Both couples are members at Good Hope.

  • Birth Announcements for Dec. 20

    Danielle and Thomas Keltner of Columbia announce the birth of a son, William Jacob Keltner, at 2:47 p.m. on Dec. 10 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville. He weighed 9 pounds, 1 ounce and was 19 inches long.

    Grandparents are Donna and Mike Munyon of Lincoln, Ark., Eric and Chrissy Bergman of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Billy and Pat Keltner of Columbia.

    Great-grandparents are Freda and Everett Wilson of Campbellsville, Dawson Kelther of Columbia, Danny and Barbara Evans of Ash Flat, Ark. and Eric and Cuanita Bergman of Haines City, Fla.

  • Teachers host birthday, Halloween party at The Grandview

     

    Taylor County Retired Teachers Association recently hosted an October birthday and Halloween party for residents at The Grandview.

    Members who helped include Patty Evans, Jackie Akridge, Carole Whitley, Diane Rogers, Mitzi Tedder, Joyce Dunlap, Betty Hord, Ramonda Cunningham, Betty Williams, Donald Skaggs, Janet Clark, Jane Horn and Karen Vaughn.

  • Local girl donates hair to Locks of Love

     

    Brooklyn Morris, 7, recently donated 10 inches of her hair to the Locks of Love program.

    Morris is the daughter of John and Tina Morris of Simpsonville.

    Her grandparents are Dennis and Frances Morris of Campbellsville and Jackie Rose and Debbie Wellman of McKee.
