  • Birth Announcements for Feb. 14

    Amy Vaughn and Jesse Morgan of Campbellsville announce the birth of twin daughters, Olivia Vaughn Morgan and Sophia Gregory Morgan, at 12:55 and 12:56 p.m., respectively, on Jan. 15 at the women's hospital at St. Joseph East in Lexington. Olivia weighed 2 pounds, 11 ounces and was 14 inches long. Sophia weighed 2 pounds, 5 ounces and was 12.5 inches long.

    Grandparents are Judy Russell Vaughn, Patty Vaughn, Reed Morgan and the late Greg Vaughn and Linda Morgan.

    Great-grandparents are the late Evelyn Foster and Nelle Vaughn.

  • Tarter, MacDonald to wed

     

    Ann Morgan Tarter of Kailua, Hawaii, and Adam MacDonald of Summerland Key, Fla., announce their engagement.

    Tarter, formerly of Campbellsville, is the daughter of Mike and Lyndi Tarter and Gary and Debra Waldron of Campbellsville.

    Her grandparents are Norman and Margaret Christie and the late Elbert and Genieve Tarter.

    Tarter graduated from Campbellsville High School and Centre College and is an optometrist with the United States Navy. She is stationed at Pearl Harbor.

  • Campbell, Lawrence to wed

     

    Amanda Campbell and Thomas Lawrence of Campbellsville announce their engagement.

    Campbell is the daughter of Jack and Renea Campbell of Campbellsville. Her grandparents are Fred and Betty Gregory and Ernie and Kathy Campbell, all of Prescott, Ariz.

    She is a licensed cosmetologist, having graduated from the Paul Mitchell School in Rexburg, Idaho. Campbell is employed at Goody's.

  • Couples graduate from prenatal class

     

    Two Campbellsville couples recently graduated from prenatal and childbirth classes taught by Taylor Regional Hospital in January. Pictured are Tara Fisher, Nicole Hines, Connie Gribbins and Elizabeth and Christopher Ross.

    Classes are taught on Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. at TRH's meeting room. This is a five-week series and is free to anyone delivering at TRH.

    The class is taught by Nicole Collins, RN, CCE. For more information, call the TRH Women's Center at 465-3561 Ext. 2232.

  • TRH names winter ambassador

     

    Lisa Haliday has been named Taylor Regional Hospital's ambassador for winter. Mitch Gaddis and Marline Withers were also nominated.

    Haliday was nominated by a team member. The following was written about Lisa on her nomination form.

    "Lisa truly is a 'care manager.' She addresses all aspects of the patient and family needs. I had her personally arrange for my mother's rehab following her surgery. She is always kind and professional.

  • CU professor serving as transitional pastor in Somerset

    Dr. G. Ted Taylor, professor of Christian studies, director of the Leadership/Character/Development Institute and lead professor of sports ministry program at Campbellsville University, is serving as transitional pastor at Beacon Hill Baptist Church in Somerset.

    Taylor recently completed a successful transitional pastorate at Campbellsville Baptist Church. He has served local churches both full time and bi-vocationally for 40 years.

  • Sloan, Boston to wed

     

    Miranda Sloan of Columbia and Caleb Boston of Knifley announce their engagement.

    Sloan is the daughter of Robert and Sarah Sloan of Columbia.

    Boston is the son of Terry and Syrena Boston of Knifley.

    The ceremony will be at Thursday, Feb. 14, at 8 p.m. at Hovious Mission Church in Knifley. A reception will follow at the church.

    All family and friends are invited to attend.

  • Taylor County Fair Association receives awards at annual convention

     

    Taylor County Fair won two awards during the annual Kentucky Association of Fairs and Horse Shows convention Jan. 10-12 at Galt House in Louisville.

    The Taylor County Fair catalog received first place in the state of Kentucky in the glossy finish category. Last year, the catalog was named as state runner up in the division.

    "We are thrilled after 15 years to have produced what was judged as the best fair catalog in the state of Kentucky," said Mike Litchfield, president of the Taylor County Fair Association. 

  • Birth Announcements for Jan. 31

    Hannah and Weston Jones of Campbellsville announce the birth of a son, Hudson Tate Jones, at 5 a.m. on Dec. 16 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. He weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces and was 20.5 inches long.

    Grandparents are Carla Carroll of Elk Horn and Tommy Bland, Karen Jones and Mitchell Jones of Campbellsville.

    Great-grandparents are Wanda Carroll of Elk Horn and Rufus and Doris Hansford of Campbellsville.

  • Gilbert, Shirley to wed

     

    Laura Savannah Gilbert and Jason Allen Shirley of Campbellsville announce their engagement.

    Gilbert is the daughter of Jim and Betty Gilbert of Bradfordsville.

    Shirley is the son of James and Kathy Shirley of Summersville.

    The ceremony will be Saturday, Oct. 12, at 5 p.m. at First Church of God in Campbellsville.
