  • Junior conservation members plant trees

     

    Taylor County Junior Conservation Board, Taylor County Judge/Executive Eddie Rogers and Hord's Landscaping planted two trees on Friday, April 26, in honor of Arbor Day.

    The trees were planted at the Taylor County War Memorial at the Taylor County Courthouse. Hord's Landscaping donated the trees.

    Taylor County Junior Conservation Board strives to promote conservation in Campbellsville.

  • TRH names spring ambassador

     

    Amanda Kelley has been named the Taylor Regional Hospital ambassador for spring 2013. Cindy Hardy was also nominated.

  • Rafferty honored with wedding shower

     

    Meagan Rafferty was honored with a wedding shower on April 21 at Jane Blevins' home.

  • Lake Cumberland honors employee of the month

     

    Janet Cowherd was recently chosen as Feburary's employee of the month at Lake Cumberland District Health Department.

    Cowherd was selected for her extra efforts in arranging for resources for a needy child. Taylor County is included in the LCDHD district.

  • Author speaks to hometown crowd

     

    She starts with an idea that sparks her imagination.

    Years later, those ideas have wound themselves into several novels, one having ended up on several best-seller lists.

    Campbellsville native Janna McMahan, who has published four novels, came back to her hometown last week to speak at the Taylor County Public Library.

    McMahan, who now lives in South Carolina, spoke about her books, writing process and background, and where her ideas come from.

  • Birth Announcements for April 25

    Tonya and Nick Miller of Columbia announce the birth of a daughter, Serenity Elizabeth Marie Miller, on April 9 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville. She weighed 8 pounds, 1 ounce and was 19.5 inches long.

    Grandparents are Lue and Glen Flippo of Columbia and Sharon and Fred Miller of Akron, Ind.

    Nicole Garrity Smith of Greensburg announces the birth of a daughter, Raylee Jade Wright, at 5:13 p.m. on April 10 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville. She weighed 5 pounds, 11 ounces and was 18 inches long.

  • Wethington celebrates 105th birthday

     

    Beachel Wethington, a resident at The Grandview, recently celebrated her 105th birthday.

  • 'Little Women's Society' collects items for Haiti

     

    East Campbellsville Church of God "Little Women's Society" met Saturday, April 13, for Servants Saturday.

    Fifty-three love bundles were packed for Haiti.

    Each bundle contains clothing, blankets and several other items to help care for infants.

  • Winfrey to celebrate 90th birthday

     

    Lois V. Winfrey of Campbellsville will celebrate her 90th birthday on Thursday, April 25.

    A reception in her honor will be Sunday, April 28, at First United Methodist Church in Campbellsville.

    Her family will host the reception from 1:30 to 3 p.m. All friends and relatives are invited.

    The family requests no gifts, but cards are welcome.

  • Taylor County represented at Acteens conference

     

    Taylor County was represented at the state Acteens conference in Bardstown recently.

    Acteens from Liberty, Lowell Avenue and Pleasant Hill Baptist churches attended the event, which was called EXALT.

    Girls learned to be a Bondservant for Christ.
