  • Pierce, Nelson wed

     

    Peggy Sue Pierce and Joseph David Nelson of Campbellsville were married on July 11 at Miller Park. The Rev. Leo Curry of Greensburg performed the ceremony.

    Pierce is the daughter of the late James and Helen Curry.

    Nelson is the son of Woodrow and Jean Nelson of Campbellsville.

    The best man was Scott Callee. The maid of honor was Amanda Pierce.

    The couple lives in Campbellsville.

  • Nearly 40 attend Kilby reunion

    The annual Kilby family and friends reunion was Saturday, June 23, at Acton Retreat Center. Thirty-eight people attended.

    Those attending from out of town were Michael VanCleave of Paris, France; Bill and Ruth Kilby VanCleave of Boulder, Colo.; LeAnne Matney Smith with Zachary, Colin and Peyton, and Zach Reed of McKinney, Texas; Don and Carol Kilby Edwards of Fairfield Glade, Tenn.; Betty Rogers of Bristol, Tenn. and Diana Parker Lennington of Danville.

  • Campbellsville resident wins canoe competition

     

    Scott Dillery's interest in white-water canoeing recently led to a national achievement.

    Dillery, a Campbellsville resident who is a Lindsey Wilson College associate professor of mathematics, won a national championship at the White Water Open Canoe Downriver Nationals in June on the Nantahala River near Wesser, N.C.

  • Korean Conflict veterans honored with book signing

     

    Korean Conflict veterans from Taylor County were featured in a Campbellsville University book, "They Were Soldiers: The stories of those from Taylor County who served during Korea."

    Nine veterans, whose stories were told in the book written by students in the Department of Mass Communication at CU, were present for an unveiling and book signing at CU's Carter Hall on July 4.

  • Cox, Steele to wed

     

    Kelly McKenzie Cox and James Michael Steele of Campbellsville announce their engagement.

    Cox is the granddaughter of Delois Lee, Phyllis Fair and Bradley Fair of Campbellsville.

    Steele is the son of Rick Steele and Marie Bianconi of Liberty. His grandparents are Betty Fields and Dorothy Reak of Liberty.

    The ceremony will be Saturday, July 28, at 1 p.m. at Pitman Valley Baptist Church. A reception will follow.

    All friends and family members are invited.

  • TCHS Class of 1952 celebrates reunion

     

    Taylor County High School Class of 1952 recently celebrated its 60th year reunion at the Campbellsville Country Club.

  • Caldwell, Wasson honored with wedding shower

     

    Crissy Caldwell and Joey Wasson were honored with a wedding shower on June 24 at Bluegrass Cheer Stars Gymnastics.

    The ceremony will be Saturday, Aug. 11.

  • Bruce, Richardson to wed

     

    Blair Whitney Bruce of Elizabethtown and Price Randolph Richardson of Somerset announce their engagement.

    Bruce is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald K. Bruce of Nortonville.

    She is a 2005 graduate of the University of Evansville, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She is a 2010 graduate of Murray State University, where she completed a Master of Science degree in nursing. She is employed as a certified registered nurse anesthetist at Heartland Anesthesia Consultants in Elizabethtown.

  • Birth Announcements for 7-19

    Jessica and AJ Dean of Campbellsville announce the birth of a son, Cameron Tyler Dean, at 8:29 p.m. on July 1 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville. He weighed 6 pounds, 11 ounces and was 19.75 inches long.

    Grandparents are Judy and Bryan Tucker of Campbellsville.

    Samantha Shyrl Hicks of Campbellsville announce the birth of a daughter, Shayla Raine Hicks, at 4:25 a.m. on July 4 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. She weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces and was 19 inches long.

  • Sallee, Probus to wed

     

    Lauren Paige Sallee of Greensburg and Benjamin Joseph Probus of Brownsville announce their engagement.

    Sallee is the daughter of John Sallee and Anita Sallee. Her grandparents are Elnora Davis and the late Garnett Davis and Ina Gribbins. She is a 2011 graduate of Green County High School and attends Western Kentucky University studying pre-dentistry.
