  • CHS Class of 1951 hosts reunion

     

    Campbellsville High School Class of 1951 class members recently gathered for a reunion. Twenty-two of the 32 class members are living and nine attended the reunion.

    Attending were Anne Harp Fraim, Dolores Morris Money, Eva Fudge Curry, Jane Buchanan Roution, Pat Walsh Blakeman, Guy McAnelly, Bill Mardis, Doug Jones and Billy B Smith.

  • Birth Announcements for September 25

    Tiffany Marie and Brandon Aaron Garrett of Campbellsville announce the birth of a daughter, Kimber Marie Garrett, at 8:28 a.m. on Sept. 8 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. She weighed 9 pounds, 11 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    Grandparents are Wallace and Marsha Payton of Liberty, Colletta Grider and Joe and Shelly Garrett of Campbellsville.

    Great-grandparents are Robert Don and Margaret Cox of Campbellsville, Anna Patterson and Nellie Payton of Liberty and the late Ray Payton.

  • Club searching for members

     

    With membership numbers dwindling, they wanted to do something to show that their group isn't just about quilting.

    Sawtooth Sisters quilt guild was formed in the late 1990s. Named after a quilting pattern, the group once boasted dozens of members. Now, there are about 15.

    The group recently decided to change its name to Knot Just Quilters, which members say shows the group offers a variety of activities and lessons.

  • Kirtley, Cofer to wed

     

    Ashley Kirtley of Campbellsville and Michael Cofer of Elizabethtown announce their engagement.

    Kirtley is the daughter of Bobby and Lisa Kirtley.

    She is a graduate of Taylor County High School and Campbellsville University and is employed by the commonwealth of Kentucky as an auditor.

    Cofer is the son of Al and Susan Rider and Quinn and Kathy Cofer.

    He is a graduate of Elizabethtown High School and Bellarmine University and is employed as a teacher and boys' basketball coach at North Hardin High School.

  • Pickin' in the Parking Lot

     

    Taylor County Public Library hosted four local musicians for a Pickin' in the Parking Lot event last Tuesday.

    Father and son duos John Willis and Stewart Graham from Campbellsville and Brian Stevenson and Grant Stevenson from Breckenridge County performed bluegrass music.

    About 160 people attended.

  • Hearon, Newcomb to wed

     

    Dana Michelle Hearon and Bobby Joe Newcomb of Lebanon announce their engagement.

    Hearon is the daughter of Tommy Hearon and Deborah Hearon of Campbellsville.

    She is a controller at Hatcher Dairy Cattle in Columbia.

    Newcomb is the son of Dinah Newcomb of Lebanon and the late Randall Newcomb.

    He is the owner and operator of Newcomb Courier and Newcomb Automotive.

  • Birth Announcements for September 11

    Alyssa "Shea" Kearnes and Wesley Lee Jaggers of Campbellsville announce the birth of a daughter, Rori Rhea Jaggers, at 11:12 a.m. on Aug. 8 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. She weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces and was 20.5 inches long.

    Grandparents are Keith and Lisa Kearnes and Teresa Newkirk of Campbellsville and Dennis Jaggers of Greensburg.

    Great-grandparents are Stanley and Emogene Bradshaw and Richard and Arvella Kearnes of Campbellsville.
