  • The Bluegrass Pioneers perform at Lebanon

    The Bluegrass Pioneers finished second in the 2008 Kentucky Bluegrass Music Kickoff in Lebanon on Jan. 4-5. They received $250. Members are: Trent Roy (banjo), Jeff Roy (mandolin) and Kenneth Roy (guitar), all of Casey County, Daniel Wilson (guitar) of Russell Springs and Lynn Benningfield (bass) of Campbellsville.

  • Edwards Kids Corner

    Briley Grace Edwards celebrated her first birthday on Dec. 12. She is the daughter of Bobby Edwards and Ashley Clark, both of Greensburg. Her grandparents are Phyllis and David King, Steve and Connie Wood and Mike and Bonnie Clark, all of Campbellsville, and Wayne Edwards and Vikki Edwards, both of Greensburg.

  • Bentley helps plan All-American Bowl

    Army Reserve Lt. Col. David Eric Bentley of Campbellsville was a member of the U.S. Army support staff who helped coordinate and plan the recent All-American Bowl high school all-star football game played at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas on Jan. 5.

    The nationally-televised bowl game was sponsored by the U.S. Army and pitted the top high school football athletes in the nation against each other in an East vs. West contest. This was the eighth year that the Army has sponsored the game. In this year's match-up, the East team managed to outscore the West team, 33-23.

  • Legion members deliver Christmas gifts

    American Legion Post 82 members split into six delivery teams on Christmas Eve. They loaded 80 boxes of food items, plus 40 pounds each of potatoes and tangelos. The gifts were delivered to 40 families throughout Taylor County.

  • Kids Corner

    Breanna Raye Draper, 9, and Abigail Grace Draper, 7 months, are the daughters of Tim and Angie Draper of Campbellsville. Their grandparents are David and Brenda Rice and Richard and Judy Draper, all of Campbellsville. Great-grandparents are Stanley and Lula Sallee and Helen Rice, all of Campbellsville, Nancy Dixon of Knifley, Ocra Draper of Columbia and the late Eugene Rice, Wayne Dixon and Elmer Draper.

  • Legion Post 82 hosts Christmas dinner

    Edwards-O'Banion Post 82 American Legion hosted its annual family dinner during the Dec. 6 meeting. Masters of ceremony Adj. Mike Dishman, left, and Cmdr. Robert Bryant, right, kept the event in order. Members were recognized for their service to the Legion.

    Shannon Thomas and Chris Clark, both of Campbellsville, will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, March 29.

    Thomas is the daughter of Richard and Vivian Thomas of Princeton. Her grandparents are Don Thomas and Doris Thomas, both of Princeton, Mariam Haile of Bonita Springs, Fla. and the late Zane Haile.

  • Birth Announcements for 1-10

    Kristina Grant and David Ford of Lebanon announce the birth of a daughter, Kinzlee Rhiana Ford, at 7:46 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville. She weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    Grandparents are Anita and Banner Shoe of Greensburg and Rick and Carolyn Ford of Elk Horn.

    Great-grandparents are Jim and Sally Grant of Willington, Conn. and Bradley and Linda Callahan of Feathersburg.
