  • Roution

    Eddie and Sam Roution of Merrimac will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 4.

    The Routions were married on Jan. 4, 1958 at The Church of Christ in Campbellsville by Mr. James Cooper.

    They have four sons and daughters-in-law, Donnie and Hilda Roution and Paul and Sheila Roution, all of Merrimac, Jimmy and Tammi Roution of Mannsville and Barry and Connie Roution of Campbellsville.

  • Birth Announcements for 12-27

    Kevin and Tina Propes of Campbellsville announce the birth of a daughter, Abigail Grace, at 12:58 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville. She weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces and was 19 1/4 inches long.

    Grandparents are Ruel and Teresa Brackett of Upton, Donnie Propes of Hodgenville and the late Janet Propes. Great-grandparents are Don and Mary Kathryn Puckett of Upton and Geneva Propes of Hodgenville.

  • Neighborhood hosts Christmas decorating contest

    Forest Hills Homeowners Association hosted its annual Christmas decorating contest on Friday evening, Dec. 7.

    Three new categories were added this year.

    The winners in each category follow:

    Animation - The Scott and Farrah Hord home, 427 Cambridge Way.

    Best use of colored lights - Terry and Mitzi Tedders' home, 516 Cambridge Way, winner; and Chris and Karen Reynolds' home, 609 Forest Hills Drive, first runner-up.

  • Central Elite All-Stars take first

    Central Elite All-Stars recently took first place in the Cheer LTD Competition at Berea College. The cheerleaders are, from left, front: Kelsey Lahiff, Lydia Cave, Paige Wilcher, Brianna Hicks and Taylor Blevins. Middle: Haley Wright, Hannah Reynolds, Katelyn Gosser, Nikki Hicks and Jessie Cash.   • Beard

    J.T. and Melva Beard, formerly of Campbellsville, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Chatham, La., with a surprise reception hosted by their children and grandchildren. The Beards were married at Campbellsville Christian Church on Dec. 6, 1957 by Bro. Bohr. They now live in Chatham and have four children, Scott Beard of Campbellsville, Janie Hlavinka of East Bernard, Texas, Bernie Beard of Plantersville, Texas, and Jeff Beard of West Virginia. They also have seven grandchildren.

  • Girl Scouts visit the orchard

    Taylor County Girl Scout Troops #222 and #1571 visited Bennett's Orchard on Oct. 13. The girls enjoyed a hayride, corn maze, picked out a pumpkin and ate a picnic lunch.   • Dewar-Williams

    Phoebe Ann Dewar and Dwaron O'Neil Williams, both of Campbellsville, will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, Dec. 29.

    Dewar is the daughter of James Alan Dewar and Kimberly Louise Dewar, both of Frederick, Md. Her grandparents are Robert and Carol Kidwell of Delaware, Alan Hare Dewar of Pennsylvania and the late Georgia McCormic.

    She is a December 2007 graduate of Campbellsville University's Carver School of Social Work.

  • Youth attend keyboard festival

    Lizzy Cox and Cameron Jeffries attended the Kentucky Music Teachers Association State Convention at Centre College on Oct. 20. They participated in the Elementary Audition Workshop, which consisted of playing two memorized piano pieces for an adjudicator. They also performed at a recital later that afternoon. Cox and Jeffries were eligible for the event because they had received a superior rating at the CKMTA Keyboard Festival last spring. They are pictured with their piano instructor, Beth Cochran.

  • Wilhoit celebrates third birthday

    Connor Reece Wilhoit celebrated his third birthday with a party at Sport Spot. Celebrating with him were Mia Blaydes, Charles Cox, Ava Laymance, Kayden Bell, Braxton Smith, Truman Hall and his big brother, Anthony Wilhoit. He is the son of Kevin and Kim Wilhoit of Campbellsville. His grandparents are Lois and Winsfred Skaggs and Rose Murphy, all of Campbellsville.

    Michael and Nicole Dudgeon of Campbellsville announce the birth of a son, Westin Lee, at 1:19 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 12 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville. He weighed 8 pounds, 13 ounces and was 20.4 inches long.

    Grandparents are Phil and Barb Davis and Jed and Ila Dudgeon, all of Campbellsville.

    Mary Elizabeth "Beth" McFarland and Jesse Clay Abell of Campbellsville announce the birth of a daughter, Destiny Faith Abell, at 12:31 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. She weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces and was 21 inches long.
