  • Benningfields celebrate second birthday

    Joshua Clay, left, and Jelsie Claire Benningfield celebrated their second birthday March 6. Their parents are Jason and Jessica Benningfield of Finley. Grandparents are Clyde and Bonnie Benningfield of Finley and Howell and Letitia Hallmark of Bradfordsville. They also have a brother, Jacob Andrew.

  • Legg celebrates birthday

    Jace Legg celebrated his second birthday on Jan. 23. He is the son of Jennifer Gribbins and Josh Fenwick. His grandparents are Mike Gribbins of Campbellsville, Danny and Gayle Fenwick of Springfield and the late Penny Nalley. Great-grandparents are Clarence and Wanda Perkins of Lebanon.

  • Robison celebrates second birthday

    Landon Robison recently celebrated his third birthday with a Shrek party. Pictured are, from left, Jade Keltner, Landon, Shrek, Tucker Pogue, Lane Whitley, Eli Warren and Ethan Warren. Not pictured are Jack Miller, Trinity Wells, Merideth Pogue and Addie Farmer. He is the son of Michael and Jamie Robison of Campbellsville. Grandparents are John and Dianne Harris and W.R. and Kaye Robison, all of Campbellsville.

  • Rafferty-Streeval

    Brittany Gail Rafferty of Elk Horn and Jerry Len Streeval Jr. of Columbia will exchange wedding vows on Sunday, March 30.

    Rafferty is the daughter of Rondall and Gail Cox of Elk Horn. Her grandparents are Derald and Marsa Cox of Elk Horn, Pauline Cash of Campbellsville and the late Earl Cash.

    She is a 2005 graduate of Taylor County High School. Rafferty is a homemaker and student.

    Streeval is the son of Jerry Streeval Sr. of Somerset and Lou Ellen Streeval of Columbia. His grandparents are Jr. Streeval of Columbia and the late Joan Streeval and Finis Crawhorn.

  • Druin honored with bridal shower

    Erin Druin was recently honored with a bridal shower at the home of Wanda Stone. Pictured are, from left, Stone, hostess; Betty Moyers-Anderson, the bride's aunt; Kathy Druin, the bride's mother; Erin; Sarah Hodges, the groom's mother; and Debbie Underwood, hostess. Erin will marry Brad Hodges on April 19 at Greensburg Baptist Church.

  • Skaggs releases new book of poetry

    "The Poet Laureate of People Who Hate Poetry" is a new book of poetry by local poet and writer Kathy Skaggs.

    In a review for Midwest Book Reviews, Laurel Johnson said this about the book:

    "My husband is a native of the Kentucky mountains, a true hater of poetry and all things literary. Without my knowledge, he read this little book and loved it. He shook it in my face and said, 'You ... better write a good review of this book because it's SPECIAL.' He's right. This book is special in so many ways I can't express adequately in a review."

  • Thomas, Clark honored with wedding shower

    Shannon Thomas and Chris Clark were honored with a wedding shower on Feb. 24. Pictured are, from left, Mary Campbell, the groom's grandmother; Janet Clark, the groom's mother; Chris and Shannon; Vivian Thomas, the bride's mother; and Ruby Clark, the groom's grandmother. The couple will marry on Saturday, March 29 at Campbellsville University's Ransdell Chapel.

  • Williams celebrates

    George Williams recently celebrated his "21st birthday" with a birthday bash at Ponderosa.

    Williams was born on Leap Year Day in 1924. He has been the owner of two service stations, a Greyhound Bus station, was a Campbellsville City Police officer and a Taylor County Metro Police officer. Williams retired as Taylor County jailer. He is also retired from the Central Kentucky News-Journal, where he was a driver for 32 years.

    Traveling and fishing now take up most of Williams' time. Most mornings he can be found visiting with the other men-about-town in local restaurants.

  • Jeffries-Hunt

    Kerry and Lisa Jeffries of Greensburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Amey Michelle Jeffries, to Joey Hunt, the son of Jeannie and Tim Davis and Doug and Roxie Hunt, all of Campbellsville.

    Jeffries is the granddaughter of Sonya Jeffries and the late William "Billy" Jeffries and William and Lucille Ervin.

    She is a 1997 graduate of Green County High School, a 2000 graduate of Western Kentucky University and a 2007 graduate of Lindsey Wilson College. Jeffries is employed at Amazon.com.

  • Knights, OLPH make donation to pregnancy center

    Knights of Columbus Council #12923 and Our Lady of Perpetual Help recently donated $350 to Central Kentucky Crisis Pregnancy Center. Pictured are, from left, front: Doug Willems and Angie Pace. Back: Father James Bromwich, Charles Tennyson, Jennifer Evans and Marla Carpenter.
