  • Birth Announcements

    Terissa Graham of Campbellsville announces the birth of a daughter, Savannah Rose Graham, at 1:47 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. She weighed 6 pounds, 8 1/4 ounces and was 19 inches long.

    Grandparents are Bobby and Diane Graham of Campbellsville.

    Great-grandparents are Pauline Graham of Campbellsville, the late Leslie Graham and Leslie and Vela McKinney.

  • Girl Scouts collect donations for babies

    About one in four Kentucky children and one in eight Indiana children live in poverty. That's why Girl Scouts are asking their communities to join them in Wee Care, a Girl Scout service project during Valentine's Week, Feb. 11-18.

    Since 1999, the Wee Care service project has helped meet the needs of less fortunate children in Kentucky and Indiana communities.

    More than 22,000 Girl Scouts from across Kentuckiana have partnered with their local county health departments to assist parents with baby care items.

  • Farmer to celebrate 95th birthday

    Milton Farmer will celebrate his 95th birthday on Saturday. A celebration, hosted by his family, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. at Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church. They request no gifts. Cards, however, are welcome.

  • Bright-Cundiff

    Pamela Jane Bright and Robert Russell Cundiff will exchange wedding vows on Wednesday, Feb. 27 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

    Bright is the daughter of Carolyn Bright of Campbellsville and the late Wilbur Bright. She has two children, Joshua Graham of Bowling Green and Marsha Graham of Campbellsville.

    She is the general manager of Five Star Food Mart.

    Cundiff is the son of Thelma Cundiff of Columbia and Ed Cundiff of Shepherdsville. He has a daughter, Brittany Cundiff of Mt. Washington.

  • Cunningham-Rock

    Carolyn Puckett of Liberty and Jack Cunningham of Lexington announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Rhea Cunningham, to Marshall Shawn Rock, son of Joe and May Rock of Campbellsville.

    Cunningham is a graduate of Tates Creek High School and Eastern Kentucky University. She is employed at Bluegrass IMPACT.

    Rock is a graduate of Campbellsville High School and Eastern Kentucky University. He is employed at L-3 Communications.

    The wedding ceremony will take place on Saturday, April 19 at Calvary Baptist Church in Lexington.

    Invitations will be sent.

    She can't understand why everyone's making such a fuss, but Frances Moss is celebrating a milestone nonetheless.

    On Saturday, Moss will be 100 years old.

    "I really don't think it's any big deal," she said.

    Born in Campbellsville to Thomas and Fannie Newton, Moss spent most of her adult life in Louisville and returned to Campbellsville just a couple years ago.

    Moss said she's been lucky to have had good health most of her life, "... until I got about 90 and then I started falling apart."

  • Osborne-King

    Dana Osborne and Ron King exchanged wedding vows on Jan. 15 in the gardens at Bally's in Las Vegas, Nev.

    The Rev. Anthony Mayberry performed the ceremony.

    The bride is the daughter of Linda Thompson of Greensburg and Johnny Thompson of Mt. Sherman. She has two children, Jamie Foster and Nathan Foster.

    She is employed at the Green County Board of Education.

    The groom is the son of Marilyn Vipond of Greensburg and the late Jerry Vipond. He has two children, Holly King and Ian King.

    King works for Mid-Continental Restoration Co.

  • Simpson earns most DUI arrests award

    Campbellsville Police Officer Norman Simpson, right, was presented an award for making the most DUI arrests of any officer in Campbellsville and Taylor County in 2007. Simpson made 42 DUI arrests. Presenting the award is Deputy William Walsh, state representative for MADD Taylor County. The presentation was made during the MADD meeting on Tuesday.

  • Sprowles celebrates fourth birthday

    Scout Sprowles celebrated her fourth birthday with a princess party at her home. The girls played dress-up and games. Scout is pictured in front. In back are, from left, Madison Ball, Peyton McCubbin, Meghan Squires and Abigale Wright.

    Jerry and Amy Watson of Campbellsville announce the birth of a daughter, Molly Ann, at 5:08 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 4 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. She weighed 8 pounds, 10 1/2 ounces and was 21 1/2 inches long.

    Grandparents are Greg and Bernetta Bland of Campbellsville and Jack Watson of Lebanon.
