  • Girl Scout cookies coming soon

    Local Girl Scouts will soon be out selling cookies to the general public. Advanced sales start Jan. 11, and booth sales begin Feb. 28.

    Cookie-lovers everywhere will still be able to purchase the classic Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Do-si-dos, Trefoils and All Abouts. In addition, Girl Scouts are introducing two new members of the cookie family - the Lemon Chalet Crme and the sugar-free Chocolate Chips cookie. All Girl Scout Cookies contain zero trans fats per serving.

  • Henderson

    Bill and Barbara Henderson of Campbellsville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Dec. 16.

    The Hendersons have two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Pat Henderson of McKee and Stan and Debbie Henderson of Dayton, Tenn.; a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Doug King of Beaver Dam.

    They also have six grandchildren and a grandson-in-law, Ryan Henderson and Whitney and Josh Tabais, all of McKee, Erin Henderson and Kacey Henderson, both of Dayton, Derek King and Katie King, both of Beaver Dam.

  • Class of 1987 hosts reunion

  • Williams-Smith

    Danielle Licoe Williams and Adam Blake Smith, both of Campbellsville, exchanged wedding vows on Saturday, June 16 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Campbellsville.

    The Rev. James Jones performed the ceremony.

    The bride is the daughter of Melissa and Danny Williams of Campbellsville.

    The groom is the son of Linda and Mike Baker of Campbellsville and the late Gary Rogers.

  • Pickerell-Durrett

    Whitney Jordan Pickerell and Stephen Blake Durrett will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, Dec. 15.

    Pickerell is the daughter of George and Sandy Pickerell of Hodgenville. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Pickerell of Hodgenville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Whitlock.

    Durrett is the son of Steve Durrett of Summersville and the late Tammy Durrett. His grandparents are Shirley and Cliff French of Campbellsville, Wilma Durrett of Summersville and the late Rev. Ancil Durrett and James Harold Larimore.

    A private ceremony is planned.

  • Hicks Kids Corner

    Addy Wright, 1 1/2, and Lilly Rayne Hicks, born on Aug. 30, are the daughters of Adam Hicks and Christa Wright of Campbellsville. Their grandparents are Ron and Sharon Hicks of Campbellsville and Robin and Rodney McKenzie and Kevin and Tracy Wright, all of Summersville. Great-grandparents are Doris Davis of Campbellsville, Linda Thompson of Greensburg, Johnny Thompson, Peggy and Tommy Whitlow and Jamie Wright, all of Summersville, and the late Buddy Wright, Tom Proctor and Edith and Delmar Hicks.

  • Cook-Wilson

    Amanda Dean Cook and Jeremy Chad Wilson will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, Dec. 15.

    Cook is the daughter of Roger Cook of Russellville and Melva Wood of Campbellsville. Her grandparents are Ethel Wood of Campbellsville and the late David Wood and Virginia Cook.

    She is a 1996 graduate of Taylor County High School and is employed as a pharmacy technician at Central Drug Store in Campbellsville.

  • Atwood-Abell

    Kimberly Dawn Atwood and Phillip Dale Abell, both of Lebanon, exchanged wedding vows on July 14 on the beach of Jekyll Island, Ga.

    The Rev. Dimas Diaz performed the ceremony.

    The bride is the daughter of Paul and Linda Atwood of Campbellsville. Her grandparents are Eddie Shofner of Campbellsville and the late Ruby Shofner and Prayor and Eller Atwood.

    The groom is the son of Joe and Linda Abell of Lebanon. His grandparents are the late Walter and Lillian Abell and Tolbert and Bessie Edwards.

  • National Guard announces graduates, new recruits

    A Campbellsville man along with several Greensburg men have either joined the Kentucky National Guard in Campbellsville or recently completed training courses.

    -Jessie Perez, son of Emma Perez of Campbellsville, graduated from a logistics course at Ft. Lee, Va.

    Perez finished No. 2 in his class and serves in the Campbellsville National Guard.

    -Chris Lowe, son of Billy Joe and Becky Lowe of Greensburg, recently graduated from the artillery course at Ft. Sill, Okla. Lowe finished within the top five of his class and serves in the Campbellsville National Guard.

  • Troop 2164 attends Festival of the Arts

    Cadette members of Taylor County Girl Scout Troop 2164 attended the annual Festival of the Arts in Louisville on Nov. 10. They went to The Derby Dinner Playhouse and toured The Howard Steamboat Museum. Pictured are, from left, Hannah Reynolds, Lauren Johnson, Jenna Corbin, Erika Gaddie and Katie Long.
