  • 'Women Celebrating Women'

    Campbellsville Business and Professional Women focused on Women's History Month with a special program on March 13.

    "Women Celebrating Women" was the theme with a focus on women of the past, present and the future. A generation of women ranging from the ages of 11 to 55 enlightened the group on their challenges and experiences, both personally and professionally.

    Other highlights of the evening were gospel singing, a liturgical dance, country singing and a silent auction.

  • Birth Announcements

    Nicholas and Wanita Wenger of Elk Horn announce the birth of a daughter, Shyann Rylie, at 9:05 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. She weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce and was 20 inches long.

    Grandparents are Russell and Barbara Jean Martin and Noah and Amelia Wenger, all of Elk Horn.

    Great-grandparents are Marvin and Elsie Stauffer and Lilly Martin, all of Elk Horn.

  • Cornettes celebrate Leap Year birthday

    Katelyn Cornette and Jacob Cornette celebrated their Leap Day birthday with a three-day party consisting of a George Strait concert in Lexington, a pool party/sleepover at Holiday Day Inn Express and Chuck E. Cheese. The 12-year-olds are the children of Clifton and Kim Carter of Campbellsville and David Cornette of Florida. They are the grandchildren of Don and Sue Green of Campbellsville.

  • Wright celebrates birthday

    Mason Wright celebrated his eighth birthday on Feb. 22 at Holiday Inn Express with a pool party. Pictured are, from left: Shawn Lamkin, Ben Leitchfield, Caleb Southern, Blake Herron, Trent Jones, Bradyn Wright, Mason, Evan Davis, Marcus Moore, Treyce Mattingly, Brandon Florence and Ty Jones.

  • Akridge-Lawson

    Gretchen Leigh Akridge of Murfreesboro, Tenn. and Adam Shane Lawson of Coxs Creek, Ky., were married on Saturday, Oct. 20 at South Campbellsville Baptist Church.

    Bro. James Durham performed the ceremony.

    The bride is the daughter of David and Cheryl Akridge of Campbellsville.

    The groom is the son of JC and Peggy Lawson, also of Campbellsville.

  • Hughes

    Orville and Margie Hughes of Campbellsville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, March 29.

    They have one son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Becky Hughes of Bloomington, Ind.; and two daughters, Charlene Gabbert and Linda Hughes, both of Campbellsville. They also have four grandchildren, Chelsea Hughes, Graham Hughes, David Gabbert and Jessica Gabbert.

    Their children and grandchildren will host a reception in their honor from 4 to 6 p.m. at Campbellsville Nazarene Church, located at 912 W. Main St.

    All family and friends are invited to attend.

  • Medco names Valentine king and queen

    Eugene Underwood and Sue Underwood were selected as Valentine king and queen for 2008 at Medco Nursing Home. Both received a crown and gifts. A party followed the crowning event.

  • Curry-Clark

    Jim and Sara Curry of Campbellsville announce the engagement of their daughter, Leigh Anne Curry, to David Clark of Orange Park, Fla., son of the late John and Ann Clark.

    Curry is the granddaughter of the late William and Nelle Blevins and Marvin and Mandy Curry.

    She is a graduate of Campbellsville High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University.

    Clark is a graduate of Orange Park High School, holds a music education degree from Auburn University and an MBA degree from the University of Tennessee.

  • Benningfields celebrate second birthday

    Joshua Clay, left, and Jelsie Claire Benningfield celebrated their second birthday March 6. Their parents are Jason and Jessica Benningfield of Finley. Grandparents are Clyde and Bonnie Benningfield of Finley and Howell and Letitia Hallmark of Bradfordsville. They also have a brother, Jacob Andrew.

  • Legg celebrates birthday

    Jace Legg celebrated his second birthday on Jan. 23. He is the son of Jennifer Gribbins and Josh Fenwick. His grandparents are Mike Gribbins of Campbellsville, Danny and Gayle Fenwick of Springfield and the late Penny Nalley. Great-grandparents are Clarence and Wanda Perkins of Lebanon.
