  • Ritchie celebrates birthday

    Piper Ritchie celebrated her second birthday with family and friends recently at Mr. Gatti's. She is the daughter of Mark Ritchie and Rachel Skaggs. Her grandparents are Kathy and Guy Ritchie and Tammy and Terry Skaggs.   • Celebration of Hope

    A group of ladies get together once a year to attend the Celebration of Hope in Frankfort at the Capitol. The celebration, which honors breast cancer survivors, features a luncheon and entertainment provided by the Governor and First Lady. More than 1,000 ladies from all over Kentucky attended this year's event.   • Thompson-Parsons

    Miranda Carol Thompson and David Brandon Parsons, both formerly of Campbellsville, will exchange wedding vows on Thursday, May 22.

    Thompson is the daughter of Denise and DeWayne Squires and Phillip D. Thompson, all of Campbellsville. Her grandparents are Carol Becker and Robert E. and Jewell Squires, all of Campbellsville, Josephine Mann of Louisville and the late John Becker, William B. Mann and Earl and Alma Thompson.

  • Smith-Sublett

    Jessica Lee Smith and David Allen Sublett, both of Campbellsville, will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, May 24.

    Smith is the daughter of Jeffery and Rebecca Smith of Mayfield. Her grandparents are Nancy Smith of Mayfield and the late Donald Smith and Texil and Mary Pyle.

    She is a 2007 graduate of Campbellsville University.

    Sublett is the son of Robert and Peggy Sublett of Campbellsville. His grandparents are the late Lester and Leona Reed and James and Beatrice Sublett.

    He is also a 2007 graduate of Campbellsville University.

  • Woman's club members plan events

    Campbellsville Woman's Club met Monday, April 28 at the home of Bea Montgomery on Lebanon Avenue.

    Committee reports were given and upcoming projects were discussed. Members planned how to disperse funds to the different projects in which the club is involved.

    Members nominated officers for the next two years, which were approved. Those officers will be installed by the Kentucky State Woman's Club president on May 19 during a potluck dinner meeting at First United Methodist Church in Campbellsville.

  • 'It was more fun than school'

    Taylor County Elementary first-grader Oriana Menes traveled with her mother to Budapest during spring break to visit her grandmother, Ldori Gyulane.

    Oriana is the daughter of Emil and Adrea Menes.

    While in Budapest, Oriana and her mother took in educational, cultural and entertaining activities for a lifetime of memories.

    Oriana and her mother, a former elementary school teacher in the Budapest school system, possess dual citizenship to that country.

  • Purvis-Sprowles

    Bethany Purvis and Jeremy Michael Sprowles, both of Campbellsville, will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, May 24.

    Purvis is the daughter of Cary Colvin and Fred Purvis, both of Campbellsville. Her grandparents are Fred Sr. and Dollie Purvis of Harrodsburg, Clarence Colvin of Campbellsville and the late Elizabeth Colvin.

    She is a 2003 graduate of Campbellsville High School and is employed at Taylor Regional Hospital.

  • Dickerson-Poff

    Thomas and Kaylene Poff of Campbellsville announce the engagement of their son, Adam Thomas Poff, to Shea Elizabeth Dickerson, the daughter of Dr. Stephen and Laurie Dickerson of North Vernon, Ind.

    Dickerson is a 2004 graduate of Georgetown College, where she earned a bachelor of science in elementary education, and a 2007 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a master's degree in educational leadership. She is employed as a fourth grade teacher at Northern Elementary in Lexington.

  • Jude, Munford honored with wedding shower

    Beth Jude and Joshua Munford were honored with a wedding shower March 30 at St. Mark United Methodist Church. Pictured are, from left, Donnie and Debbie Munford, the groom's parents; Joshua and Beth; Tammy and Calvin Jude, the bride's parents; and Jessica Gabbert, hostess. The couple will marry on Saturday, May 10.

  • Brown-Humphrey

    Casey Brown and Chip Humphrey will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, May 10.

    Brown is the daughter of Bob and Sharon Brown of Campbellsville.

    She is a 2005 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and is employed at Georgetown Healthcare Center as an occupational therapist.

    Humphrey is the son of Dr. Ron and Tresa Humphrey of Mt. Sterling, Ky.

    He is a 2004 graduate of the University of Kentucky and is employed as a mechanical engineer at Toyota in Georgetown.

    A small garden ceremony will take place at the Clay Willis House in Paris, Ky.
