  • Eastern Star Pins

    Peggy Pyles, associate matron of Pitman Chapter #157, Order of the Eastern Star, congratulates Norma Swafford and Nadine Milsap on receiving their 50-year membership pins. Also receiving pins, but not pictured, were Pearl Blevins, Florence Curry, Ruby English, Mildred Gabehart, Gertrude Mizer and Kathryn Smith. The chapter meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m.

  • Barnett Anniversary

    Richard and Virginia Barnett of Campbellsville celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Aug. 2.

    The Barnetts were married on Aug. 6, 1948.

    The event took place at Campbellsville Country Club. It was hosted by their son and daughter, Ricky Barnett and Elizabeth Sanders.

  • RoBards-Feige

    Margaret Ann RoBards and Karl Henry Feige, both of Louisville, exchanged wedding vows on Thursday, Aug. 7 at Beech Mountain Country Club in Banner Elk, N.C.

    The Rev. Paul Bader of Gray, Tenn. performed the ceremony.

    The bride is the daughter of Richard and Linda RoBards of Campbellsville.

    The groom is the son of the late Herbert Feige Jr.

    Emma Louise Feige of Louisville served as matrimonial witness.

    Bree Russell and Mallory Russell, both of Bowling Green, served as the flower girls.

    A dinner reception followed the ceremony.

  • Watson-DeWitt

    Jessica Watson of Campbellsville and Troy DeWitt of Summersville exchanged wedding vows on Friday, July 4 at Summersville Church of the Nazarene.

    Bro. Don Gowin performed the ceremony.

    The bride is the daughter of Charles and Debbie Humphress of Campbellsville. She is employed at Cox Interior Inc.

    The groom is the son of Grady and Cora Mae DeWitt of Summersville. He is employed at Kentucky Tie and Lumber Co.

    Jennifer Neagle of Summersville served as the matron of honor. Lainey Watson and Brittany DeWitt, both of Summersville, were the bridesmaids.

  • Birth Announcements

    Josh and Jessica Skaggs of Campbellsville announce the birth of a son, Brayden Cole, at 10:45 p.m. on Friday, July 11 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. He weighed 9 pounds, 15 ounces and was 22 inches long.

    Grandparents are Terry and Tammy Skaggs, Charles Brockman and Debra Brockman, all of Campbellsville.

    Great-grandparents are Helen McClurg of Elizabethtown, Albert Skaggs of Campbellsville and the late Geneva Skaggs, George and Mildred Holmes and Walter Barnes.

  • Tedder Anniversary

    Roy Lee and Sarah Laurene Benningfield Tedder of Campbellsville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 30.

    The Tedders were married on Aug. 30, 1958, at Roley Christian Church in Roley, Ky. The Rev. T.R. Bledsoe performed the ceremony while Charles and Marjorie Campbell of Campbellsville were the attendants.

    The couple have two sons and daughters-in-law, Evan and Elizabeth Tedder and Kent and Michelle Tedder, all of Bowling Green. They also have six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, all of Bowling Green.

  • Sprowles promoted to sergeant

    Senior Airman Trevor "Trae" Sprowles was promoted to sergeant at Kirkland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, N.M.

    He is the son of Bobby and JJ Sprowles of Campbellsville.

  • Rotary sponsors 'Be Your Best Self' award

    The Taylor County Junior Miss Committee has announced that the Campbellsville Rotary Club is sponsoring the 2009 "Be Your Best Self" Award to be given away Saturday night at the Taylor County Junior Miss Scholarship Program at Hamilton Auditorium.

    The Campbellsville Rotary Club was organized in 1937 and over the last 70 years has provided meaningful service to the Campbellsville/Taylor County community. The club has long held a special interest in supporting young people and has provided several thousands of dollars in college scholarships over the years.

  • Muncie Anniversary

    Nathaniel and Charlene Muncie of Campbellsville, formerly of Somerset, will celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Aug. 31.

    The event will take place at the Pulaski County Park. In lieu of gifts, guests are asked to bring a dish.

    All relatives and friends are invited to attend. No invitations will be sent.

  • Morrison Kids Corner

    Dylan, 5, and Jay Morrison, 3, are the children of Darrell and Mary Morrison of Campbellsville. Their grandparents are Phil and Ruth Ann Vittitow of Louisville, Ruth Thompson of Somerset and the late RL Thompson. Great-grandparent is Alva Morrison of Greensburg.
