  • Thomas-Clark

    Kara Beth Thomas of Lebanon and Dennis Ray Clark of Campbellsville will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, Aug. 9.

    Thomas is the daughter of Mark and Mary Thomas of Lebanon.

    She is a student at Campbellsville University.

    Clark is the son of Timmy and Susie Clark of Campbellsville.

    The wedding ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. at Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church in Lebanon. A reception will follow in the church's fellowship hall.

    All relatives and friends are invited to attend.

  • RoBards-Feige

    Mr. and Mrs. Richard RoBards of Campbellsville announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Margaret Ann RoBards, to Karl Feige of Louisville, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herbert H. Feige Jr.

    RoBards, of Louisville, is a sales representative for Sepacor Inc. Pharmaceuticals.

    Feige is employed at Red7e Advertising in Louisville.

    The wedding ceremony with family and close friends will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7 at Beech Mountain, N.C.

  • CHS Class of 1963 gathers for reunion

    Campbellsville High School Class of 1963 hosted its 45th reunion on July 5 at the home of Mary Osborne.

    Attendees reminisced about high school days, renewed friendships, enjoyed a dinner and played outdoor games.

    In addition to Osborne, others who helped coordinate the reunion were Beverly Elzy, Donabeth Doyle, Betty Sue Schuhmann and Jane Noe.

    Graduates of 1963 are asked to return to Osborne a brief summary of their life since 1963, their e-mail address and phone number. These will be used for the 50th reunion.

  • McConnell pays tribute to Dr. Bobby R. Himes

    U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell paid tribute to Dr. Bobby R. Himes in the Senate Congressional Record in July:

    "Mr. President, I rise to note with sadness the passing of Dr. Bobby R. Himes, a retired Campbellsville University professor and star Kentuckian who will be greatly missed. After over four decades of service to his students, his community and the commonwealth of Kentucky, he leaves behind many loved ones and a great legacy of accomplishment. He was 76 years old.

  • Rucker-Sexton

    Raymond and Arletia Rucker of Campbellsville announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Kristin Erin Rucker, to Benson Travis Sexton, son of the Rev. Thomas and Remona Sexton of Albany.

    Rucker is a 2004 graduate of Taylor County High School and a 2007 graduate of Campbellsville University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in biology and chemistry. She is employed as an admissions counselor at Campbellsville University and as a youth minister at St. Andrew United Methodist Church.

  • Local Guardsman trains Afghan police, army

    Staff Report

    A former Campbellsville man is training members of the Afghan National Police and Army in Western Afghanistan.

    Maj. Brian S. DeMers has been deployed overseas since January as a member of the Kentucky National Guard in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

    He is the son of Celia DeMers of Campbellsville and a 1981 graduate of Campbellsville High School. His wife, Debbie Bertram DeMers, is also a 1981 CHS graduate.

  • Richardson-Absher

    Mr. and Mrs. Rondall Richardson of Magnolia announce the engagement of their daughter, April Vyetta Richardson, to Jeffrey Brent Absher, son of Archie and Beverly Absher of Campbellsville.

    Richardson is a graduate of Western Kentucky University and is employed at Bloomington Hospital in Bloomington, Ind.

    Absher is also a graduate of Western Kentucky University and is employed at Wal-Mart in Bedford, Ind.

    The wedding ceremony will take place at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Aug. 2 at Lost River Cave in Bowling Green. A reception will follow.

  • July Fourth Bar-B-Q winners

    There were 22 entries in this year's July Fourth Bar-B-Q Contest sponsored by Q-104/Commonwealth Broadcasting.

    Winners were:

    - First place - Broken Barbeque for pork.

    - Second place - Gibson BBQ for chicken.

    - Third place - Bluegrass BBQ for chicken.

  • Curry Kids Corner

    Lylah Paige Curry, born May 9, is the daughter of Timmy and Patty Curry of Campbellsville. She also has a big sister, Kaitlyn. Her grandparents are Gary and Diane Rose of Columbia and Boyd and Jackie Curry of Greensburg.

  • Shoemaker crowned Miss Teen Hart County

    Hannah Shoemaker of Campbellsville was crowned Miss Teen Hart County on July 1. She will compete at the state level in Louisville in October.
