  • Lions Club installs new officers

     

    The Campbellsville Lions Club recently installed new officers for the 2012-2013 year.

    Vice District Governor Jenny West of Monticello presided over the ceremony, which was at the Community Center.

  • Little Mr. and Miss Taylor County Fair win at state pageant

     

    Taylor County Fair's Little Mr. and Miss Trace Higdon and Harper Johnson recently won the Little Miss and Mr. Kentucky State Fair crowns.

    Johnson, 5, is the daughter of Paul and Stephanie Johnson of Campbellsville.

    Trace Higdon, 7, is the son of Junior and April Higdon of Campbellsville.

  • Despain to celebrate birthday

     

    Dorothy DeSpain of Campbellsville will turn 92 on Sept. 5.

    She has two children, Melvin DeSpain and Carol Bryant, and a grandson, Lewis Bryant Jr.

  • Johnsons to celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

     

    Paul and Joan Johnson of Campbellsville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Aug. 25, with family and friends.

    A celebration will be from 2 to 4 p.m. at Bethel First Presbyterian Church's fellowship hall.

    The couple requests no gifts.

  • Birth Announcements for 8-16

    Amanda and William Tompkins of Springfield announce the birth of a daughter, Amary Laikyn Tompkins, on July 30 at 9:02 a.m. at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. She weighed 8 pounds, 9.5 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    Grandparents are Peanut and Louise Lawson and Patricia and Jimmy Ferguson of Campbellsville and Jeanne Lawson of Lebanon. Great-grandparents are Myrtle Lawson of Springfield and Shelby-Jean Riley of Lebanon.

  • Keith, Brown to wed

     

    Crystal Keith and Chris Brown of Campbellsville announce their engagement.

    Keith is the daughter of Ale Keith Jr. of Muncie, Ind., and Reba Ritchie of Campbellsville.

    Her grandparents are Wilma Ritchie of Whitesburg and the late Gladis Keith and Guy Ritchie.

    She is a 2005 graduate of Campbellsville High School and is a full-time mother.

    Brown is the son of Dennis and Pam Terry of Campbellsville. He is employed at Amazon.com.

  • Holcomb, Williams to wed

    Debbie Holcomb and Mark Williams of Columbia announce their engagement.

    Holcomb is a 2011 graduate of Campbellsville University and is employed as a shipping and receiving clerk in Fort Knox.

    Williams is a 1987 graduate of Taylor County High School and is a licensed electrician working in Campbellsville.

    The ceremony will be Saturday, Sept. 22, at 3 p.m. at Mt. Zion Church of God. A reception will follow.

    All family and friends are invited to attend. Invitations will be sent to out-of-town guests only.

  • Distinguished Young Women participants host program at KCA

     

    Taylor County Junior Miss/Distinguished Young Women participants took part in the "Be Your Best Self" program at Kentucky Christian Academy on Monday, Aug. 13.

    The "Be Your Best Self" program allows Distinguished Young Women participants to reach out and encourage young people in our local community to make a commitment to being their best selves in areas such as academics, physical fitness, morality, character and social and civic participation.

  • Distinguished Young Women participants honored with tea

     

    Taylor County Junior Miss/Distinguished Young Women participants and their mothers were honored with a tea on Saturday, Aug. 4.

    Shelly Miller and Marlene Richardson were honorary hostesses. Participants were treated to a sampling of flavored tea and authentic tea goodies. After enjoying tea, the participants traveled to Lebanon to attend the Marion County Junior Miss program.

  • Burton celebrates sixth birthday

     

    Reese Burton celebrated his sixth birthday with family and friends at Kid Wise on Saturday, July 28.
