• Dabney honored at United Way Celebration for exceptional service to community

    United Way honored Tara Dabney of Chicago with the David Yancy Ambassador Award for Advocacy.

    Dabney was recognized at the annual United Way Community Celebration earlier this year at the Chicago Hilton.

    She is the daughter of Terry and Judy Dabney of Campbellsville.

    Dabney, director of development for Family Rescue, has been a United Way advocate through her role as an agency ambassador. Agency ambassadors inspire potential United Way donors to give, advocate or volunteer by informing them about the impact their United Way support has on metropolitan Chicago.

    Dwaron and Phoebe Dewar-Williams of Elizabethtown announce the birth of a daughter, Ava Madison, at 11:43 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. She weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces and was 19 inches long.

    Grandparents are Mary Elizabeth Williams of Campbellsville, Dwane K. Burrell of Indianapolis, Ind. and James and Kimberly Dewar of Fredrick, Md.

  • Auker celebrates second birthday

    Lance Auker celebrated his second birthday Oct. 10 at his home with a SpongeBob SquarePants party with his family and friends. He is the son of Jason and Beth Auker of Elk Horn. Aunts and uncles are Keith and Crystal Moss of Greensburg, Kirk and Leslie Grinstead and Jon and Allison Runner, all of Bowling Green.   • Woman's club hosts State Rep. candidates

    Campbellsville Woman's Club met Monday, Oct. 27 at the home of Chris Greenman.

    Candidates for 51st District State Representative John "Bam" Carney, Republican, and Billy Joe Fudge, Democrat, were the guest speakers. Each talked about the things that they would like to see accomplished if elected.

    Following the program, members discussed the upcoming annual Christmas Home Tour, which is set for Sunday, Dec. 7 from 1 to 5 p.m.
