  • Kretzler-Holt

    Jessica Kretzler and Jeremy Holt, both of Campbellsville, will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, Oct. 18.

    Kretzler is the daughter of Cheryl Kretzler of Campbellsville and Jeffery Kretzler of Enterprise, Ala. Her grandparents are Edward and Alice Haney of Greensburg and Sarah Bray of Enterprise.

    She is a student at Campbellsville University and is employed at Upstream.

    Holt is the son of Steve and Debbie Holt of Elk Horn. His grandparents are Doris Holt of Elk Horn, Wilma Johnson of Campbellsville and the late Norris Holt and Leonard Johnson.

  • 'A passion for people'

    Campbellsville University honored Wanda Washington, coordinator of Greater Campbellsville United for the past three years, with the African-American Community Leadership Award at a luncheon Oct. 1 in Winters Dining Hall.

    The Rev. John Chowning, vice president for church and external relations and executive assistant to the president at Campbellsville University, said Washington does great work with Greater Campbellsville United, of which he is a Board member.

  • Burgess celebrates 85th birthday

    Opal Burgess of Royal Oak, Mich., celebrated her 85th birthday with family and friends on Aug. 8. She is the former Opal Cave and was born and raised in Campbellsville.

    Her husband of 63 years, Cliff Burgess, was born and raised in Glasgow.

    They have eight children, Roberta Roberts of New Rochelle, N.Y.; Linda Dernier of Campbellsville; Jo Ann Burgess of Belmont, N.C.; Marie Burgess of Fort Myers, Fla.; Cliff Burgess Jr. of Beatrice, Neb.; Paula Mooreland of Grandview, Ohio; Hank Burgess of Farmington Hills, Mich.; and Darlene Field of Troy, Mich.

  • Moss crowned Junior Miss Cow Days

    Alexia Hope Moss was crowned the winner of the Junior Miss Cow Days Pageant in Greensburg. She competed in the 8- to 10-year-old division and will advance to the 2008 Kentucky State Finals on Nov. 22-23 in Lexington. She is the 8-year-old daughter of Damon and Kasey Moss of Campbellsville. Her grandparents are George and Kay Pike and Laurie Rodgers, all of Campbellsville, and Michael and Teresa Moss of Prestonsburg.

  • Snow-Montgomery

    Meredith Ann Snow of Campbellsville and Bradley Thomas Montgomery of Louisville will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, Nov. 1.

    Snow is the daughter of Dennis and Barbara Snow of Campbellsville. Her grandparents are the late Louis and Lola Snow and Floyd "Buck" and Irene Short.

    She is a 1999 graduate of Taylor County High School and a 2003 graduate of Lindsey Wilson College. Snow is employed at the Social Security office in Campbellsville.

  • Gardner, Wilson honored with wedding shower

    Cassandra Gardner and Corey Wilson were honored with a wedding shower at Living Grace Church on Sunday, Sept. 28. Pictured are, from left, Tina Speller, the groom's aunt; Myrna Martin, the groom's paternal grandmother; Lisa Janes, the groom's aunt; Emma Frances Bean, the groom's paternal great-grandmother; Corey and Cassandra; Shannon Bishop, Annette Givens, the groom's mother; and Anita Gardner, the bride's mother. The couple were married on Oct. 3.

  • Salmon named Miss Teen Clay County

    Brittany Salmon of Campbellsville was the winner of the 2008 Miss Teen Clay County Fair. She competed in casual and formal wear and interview. Salmon also won overall introduction. She received several gifts including cash prizes. Salmon will advance to the 2008 Kentucky State Teen Pageant this month in Louisville. She is the daughter of Kristie and Jonathan Hunt and the late Billy Salmon.

  • Salyers-Tennill

    Nancy Ruth Salyers of Campbellsville and Stanley Lee Tennill of Springfield will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, Oct. 25.

    Salyers is the daughter of Cora Steakley of La Follette, Tenn., and the late Jack Steakley.

    She is a payroll administrator for Saver Group Inc. of Campbellsville.

    Tennill is the son of Pete and Katherine Tennill of Springfield.

    He is a store manager for Saver Group Inc. in Springfield.

    The wedding ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. at South Campbellsville Baptist Church. A reception will follow in the church's fellowship hall.

  • Tiger Cubs visit detension center

  • Haddox-Coyle

    Holly Lynn Haddox of Ruston, La. and Chase Weston Coyle of Campbellsville exchanged wedding vows on Saturday, May 17 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Ruston.

    The Rev. Andy Hurst performed the double-ring ceremony.

    The bride is the daughter of Douglas and Debbie Haddox of Ruston. Her grandparents are Carroll Jones and Grace Haddox, both of Ruston, and the late Dorothy Jones and A.B. Haddox.

    The groom is the son of Terry and Mitzi Coyle of Campbellsville. His grandparents are Elmer and Roxie Coyle of Springfield and the late Charlie and Shell Carrico.
