  • Ince, McCubbin to wed

     

    Elizabeth Ann Ince and Henry Todd McCubbin of Campbellsville announce their engagement.

    Ince is the daughter of Phyllis Noel, Greg Kirkland and Christopher Ince, all of Campbellsville. She has a son, Kayden Long.

    She graduated from Taylor County High School in 2001 and is employed by Acosta.

    McCubbin is the son of Debbie and Jimmy Wentworth and Stan and Kathy McCubbin, all of Campbellsville.

    He graduated from TCHS in 2004 and is employed by the Taylor County Road Department.

  • Mardis, Jones to wed

     

    Sasha Mardis of Campbellsville and Justin Jones of Greensburg announce their engagement.

    Mardis is the daughter of Gary and Karen Mardis of Campbellsville. Her grandparents are Doug and Diane Clark and Eugene and Nellie Mardis, all of Campbellsville.

    She is a 2006 graduate of Taylor County High School and a 2012 graduate of Elizabethtown Community and Technical College with a degree in radiography.

    Mardis is employed as a laboratory and x-ray technologist at Family Medical Center in Hart County.

  • Cox, Steele wed

     

    Kelly McKenzie Cox and James Michael Steele of Campbellsville were married on July 28 at Pitman Valley Baptist Church in Campbellsville. Roger Moran performed the ceremony.

    Cox is the daughter of the late Amanda Hope Lee Cox and Ricky Dean Cox. She is the granddaughter of the late Coleman Lee and Delois Lee.

    Steele is the son of Rick Steele and Marie Bianconi of Liberty. He is the grandson of Dorothy Reak and Betty Field of Liberty.

    Maid of honor was Amber Clan of Campbellsville. She wore a pink dress and carried pink roses.

  • Museum hosts 'Beans n Bluegrass' fundraiser

     

    The Hiestand House-Taylor County Museum hosted a "Beans n Bluegrass" fundraiser recently.

    Dale Houk of Greensburg was the chef for the event, cooking a meal over an open fire. Nearly 115 people were served.

    The Exie Boys performed bluegrass music.

  • Hunt wins Miss Preteen title

     

    Ashley Hunt of Campbellsville was recently named the 2012 Miss Preteen Clay County Fair.

    She also won cash prizes and other awards.

    She will compete for the state preteen title in October in Louisville along with 80 other girls from across the state.

    Hunt is the daughter of Kristie and Jonathan Hunt of Campbellsville.

  • Lions Club presents awards

     

    Campbellsville Lions Club recently presented awards honoring members for their service.

    Club president Shelia Wethington and secretary Mel Gilbert presented the Melvin Jones Fellowship award to club member Ricky Sparkman.

  • Stephenses to celebrate 60th anniversary

     

    Willard and Geraldine Stephens of Campbellsville will celebrate their 60th anniversary on Tuesday, Oct. 9. They were married Oct. 9, 1952, in Spiceland, Ind.

    The Stephenses have been Campbellsville residents for the last 18 years and are active in their church. They were recipients of the Kiwanis Club's Santa's Helpers Award in 2010 for their ongoing work with the Operation Christmas Child shoe box ministry, which they brought to Campbellsville in 1998.

  • Bishop, Ford to wed

     

    Shannon Danielle Bishop and Brook Stephen Ford of Campbellsville announce their engagement.

    Bishop is the daughter of Barry and Rebecca Bishop and Delora and Larry Akin of Campbellsville.

    Ford is the son of Van and Rebecca Ford of New Town, Conn.

    The ceremony will be Saturday, Oct. 6, at 2 p.m. in Campbellsville. Invitations were sent.

  • Christian church dedicates tree

     

    Campbellsville Christian Church dedicated a tree at Miller Park on Aug. 26 as part of its "Rooted In God's Love" initiative.

    The tree was planted as a gift to the community and to serve as a lasting reminder that Campbellsville Christian Church has roots in the community and is called to live out the greatest commandment.

  • Cox, Scott honored with wedding shower

     

    A miscellaneous wedding shower was given for Amory Cox on May 20 at Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Owensboro.

    Cox married Trevor Scott on Saturday, Sept. 22.

    Pictured are Trevor and Amory, Donna Scott, the mother of the groom, Lorraine Bowman, Dot Conklin and Vicki Newton.

    The couple will live in Nashville.
