  • Hash Kids Corner

    Brady Len Hash is the 7-month-old son of Troy and Susie Hash of Campbellsville. His grandparents are Harlan and Nell Hash and Merle and Aileen Benningfield, all of Campbellsville.

  • Our children are the reason we Relay

    Each year, the American Cancer Society hosts its Relay For Life fundraising event in cities across the nation to support the fight against cancer.

    Teams of supporters gather for this overnight event to raise funds and walk all night to show their commitment to finding a cure for cancer. If you talk to cancer survivors at Relay, most will tell you that they walk not only for themselves but for their children. Their hope is that their children will never be diagnosed with cancer.

  • Ferriell-Long

    Elizabeth Ann Ferriell and Gary Mitchell Long Jr. were married on Friday, June 20 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

    Fr. Bill Medley performed the ceremony.

    The bride is the daughter of David and Laura Ferriell of Loretto. Her grandparents are Rose Hall and Dorothy Medley, both of Loretto, and the late Joseph Rollie Hall, Charles Raphael Ferriell and James Werner Medley.

  • The late Dr. Bobby Himes honored

    The late Dr. Bobby Himes was honored posthumously during Kentucky Weslelyan College's annual alumni awards celebration on Friday, Sept. 26 at the country club in Owensboro.

    Following the meal, a musical performance was given by Dr. Diane Earle and Alfred Abel.

    KWC President Dr. Cheryl D. King presented the awards.

    Himes' daughter, Renee Abell, accepted the Alumni Achievement Award on behalf of her father. Himes died on June 28.

  • Burchell celebrates first birthday

    Kylie Burchell celebrated her first birthday on Oct. 3. She is the daughter of Steven and Kelley Burchell of Lexington. Her grandparents are Larry and Dale Marie Burchell of Campbellsville and Mike and Candy Barber of Lexington. Great-grandparents are Beulah Burchell of Bradfordsville and Ada Thompson of New Haven.

  • Cox celebrates fourth birthday

    Connor Ross Cox celebrated his fourth birthday on Oct. 11 with a Mickey Mouse party at Campbellsville Baptist Church's Christian Life Center. He is the son of Jason and Ashley Cox. His grandparents are Cary and Randall Cox, Rachel Hovious and the late David Hovious.   • Johnson celebrates third birthday

    Grant Logan Johnson of Independence celebrated his third birthday on Sept. 20 with his parents Candi Smith and Barry Johnson, as well as his grandparents Sue and Terry Smith of Campbellsville. He was treated to a day at the Cincinnati Zoo, lunch and cupcakes. He is also the grandson of Sheila Johnson of Russellville and Billy Johnson of Kansas.

  • Butzers Serving Our Nation

    Kyle Butzer, formerly of Lebanon, left, was recently promoted to E-5 at Camp Lejeune Marine Base, N.C. His brother, Andrew Butzer, right, also a Marine at Camp Lejeune, was present to pin on his Chevrons. Attending the ceremony were his wife and daughter, Ashley Butzer and McKenzie Butzer. The Butzers are the sons of Cissy Butzer of Lebanon and Steve Butzer of Cave Creek, Ariz. They are the nephews of Deborah and Michael Burris of Campbellsville and George and Rose Peters of Rineyville.

  • Birth Announcements

    Derek and Ashley Grant of Bowling Green announce the birth of a daughter, Emarie Patton, at 7:34 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2 at The Medical Center in Bowling Green. She weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces and was 21 inches long.

    Grandparents are Janice Grant and Stanley "Bo" Grant, both of Campbellsville, and Michael and Rita Y. Runner of Bowling Green.

  • Caldwell promoted to Lieutenant Colonel

    Major William Todd Caldwell, U.S. Air Force, was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel on Sept. 1.

    He is stationed at Los Angeles Air Force Base, El Segundo, Calif., where he serves as deputy program manager for the space surveillance satellite system.

    Caldwell is a 1989 graduate of Taylor County High School, a 1993 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, and received a master's degree in astronautical engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology in 1998.
