  • BPW elects new officers

    Campbellsville Business & Professional Women's Club hosted its monthly meeting on Thursday, May 8 and installed new officers for 2008-2009. They are Elise Mohon, vice president; Connie Walker, treasurer; Renay England, president; and Kathy Lawson, secretary. Campbellsville Mayor Brenda Allen performed the installation ceremony. Not pictured is Monica Hamilton, fundraising chairperson. The club invites any working woman to attend meetings, which take place at Creek Side Restaurant on the second Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m.

  • Wilson-Smith

    Trena Gayle Wilson and Jamie Russell Smith, both of Campbellsville, will exchange wedding vows on Friday, June 6.

    Wilson is the daughter of Roger and Judy Wilson of Campbellsville. Her grandparents are LaQuita Hunt of Campbellsville and the late Carl Hunt and Ralph and Edna Wilson.

    She is a 2000 graduate of Taylor County High School and is employed at AT&T Wireless in Campbellsville.

  • Ximenes honored with baby shower

    Heidy Ximenes was honored with a baby shower on May 3 at the home of David and Marlow McCullough. The couple is expecting their first child, a girl, in late June.

    Gerald and Shaun Scott of Campbellsville announce the birth of a son, Layton Thomas, at 3:35 p.m. on Monday, April 14 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville. He weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces and was 19 inches long.

    Grandparents are Denny and Rita Hedgespeth of Campbellsville, Susan Rainwater of Owensboro and Jerry and Joyce Scott of Greensburg.

    Great-grandparents are Vontress and Gladys Jones and J.D. Rainwater, all of Campbellsville, and Elizabeth Edmonds of Greensburg.

    Sawyer Glenn Cracraft is the son of Christopher and Angela Cracraft. He was born Feb. 8 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. He weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces and was 19 inches long. Grandparents are Jarvis Agee and Vivian Hawkins, both of Campbellsville, and Garry and Jennifer Cracraft of Cynthiana. Great-grandparents are Bonnie Robison of Campbellsville, Harry and Anna Cracraft of Mt. Olivet, Vivian Pollard of Cynthiana and the late Wigg Robison, James and Lena Agee and Charles "Pepsi" Pollard.

    Stephanie McMahan and Jordan Chewning, both of Campbellsville, will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, May 31.

    McMahan is the daughter of Keith and Marilyn McMahan of Campbellsville. Her grandmother is Margaret McMahan of Campbellsville.

    She is a 2002 graduate of Taylor County High School and a 2007 graduate of St. Catharine College. McMahan is employed as a registered nurse at Taylor Regional Hospital.

    A group of ladies get together once a year to attend the Celebration of Hope in Frankfort at the Capitol. The celebration, which honors breast cancer survivors, features a luncheon and entertainment provided by the Governor and First Lady. More than 1,000 ladies from all over Kentucky attended this year's event.
