  • Phillips celebrates eighth birthday

    Lauren Phillips celebrated her eighth birthday with a spa and slumber party on Feb. 20. The girls were treated to a beauty makeover and a party and sleepover.   • Boils-Johnson

    Bethany Starr Boils and Timothy Logan Johnson, both of Campbellsville, will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, March 14.

    Boils is the daughter of Steve and Mandy Boils and Angie Hicks, all of Campbellsville. Her grandparents are Frank and Carolyn Boils, Annie and Billy Whitehouse and Susan Conover, all of Campbellsville.

    She is a freshman at Campbellsville University.

    Johnson is the son of Timothy and Judy Johnson of Tippecanoe, Ind., and Juanita Johnson of Hustonville. His grandparents are Bob and Alice Collins of Hustonville and Ruth Johnson of Jackson, Ky.

  • Bartley-McElroy

    David and Laura Bartley of Springfield announce the engagement of their daughter, Deanna Lynne Bartley, to Michael Scott McElroy, son of Charles and Brenda McElroy of Finley.

    Bartley graduated from Campbellsville University in 2008 with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education.

    McElroy graduated from Marion County High School in 2000. He is employed at Portland Forge in Lebanon.

    The wedding ceremony will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 27 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Springfield. A reception will follow at Holy Trinity Parish Center.

  • Birth Announcements

    Emily Caulk and Ben Smith, both of Campbellsville, announce the birth of a daughter, Hannah Kathryn Sue Smith, at 9:40 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. She weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    Grandparents are Chris Caulk, Lisa Caulk and Randall Shofner, all of Campbellsville, and the late Mike Smith and Donna Shofner.

    Great-grandparents are Linda and Larry McDonald of Charlotte, N.C., Lorene Caulk, Glenn and Ruby Spratt and Paul and Marina Smith, all of Campbellsville, and the late Robert L. Caulk.

  • Celebrating the history of Girl Scouts

    Girl Scouts is turning 97 this year, and girls throughout Kentuckiana are ready to celebrate. Each year, Girl Scouts around the world commemorate the event with a week-long celebration.

    Girl Scout week begins with Girl Scout Sunday on March 8 and continues through March 14.

  • Hafley Kids Corner

    Mayci Jo, 7, Chloe Bryanne, 6, and Hayden Curtis, 2, are the children of Bryan and Misty Hafley of Campbellsville. Their grandparents are Joe and May Rock and Nancy Hafley, all of Campbellsville, and Warren Hafley of Lebanon. Great-grandparents are Mildred Hafley of Gravel Switch and the late Clifton Hafley, Mack and Teresa Brady, Beulah Rock and Herbert and Maude Bowen.

  • Campbellsville Woman's Club hosts art exhibit

    Campbellsville Woman's Club hosted its monthly meeting on Jan. 26 at First United Methodist Church on Main Street.

    Club president Roberta Moore introduced the program, which was on fine arts. Sixty-six students from the two local high school arts departments displayed their works to be judged by club members. Teachers, parents and students were all invited as guests.

    Ann Hodge, chair of fine arts, and her committee served refreshments.

  • Blair honored with wedding shower

    Terri Blair was honored with a personal wedding shower on Feb. 21 at the home of Shelia Wade. Blair will marry Russ Slinker in April.   • Creason

    Alton and Nettie Creason of Greensburg celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 17 at a dinner at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Junior Bryant.

    The Creasons were married on Jan. 17, 1959, at the home of the Rev. Jim Bloyd.

  • Catlin-Noland

    Elizabeth Catlin and Joseph Noland III announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage planned for May in Columbus, Ohio.

    Catlin is the daughter of Jack and Carol Catlin of Dublin, Ohio. She is employed as a teacher at East Hardin Middle School in Glendale, Ky.

    Noland is the son of Joe and Sherri Noland of Campbellsville. He is a graduate of Taylor County High School and has a B.A. in educational ministry from Campbellsville University. He is employed by the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Organization.

    They live in Elizabethtown.
