  • Hispanic Outreach

    A Hispanic Outreach Program was recently hosted by Greater Campbellsville United, Commission on Human Rights and Campbellsville Baptist Church. Booths with information pertaining to resources that assist in education, banking, health care, family provisions, fair and adequate housing, Hispanic ministry, food and door prizes were available to the public.

  • TCHS Class of 1983 hosts reunion

    Taylor County High School Class of 1983 celebrated its 25-year reunion on Oct. 25 at All Occasions in Campbellsville.   • Minor honored with bridal shower

    Emily Minor was honored with a bridal shower on Oct. 25 at the home of her parents, Bobby and Diane Minor. Pictured are, from left, Pam Tungate, hostess; Betty Tungate, grandmother and hostess; Rhonda Tungate, hostess; Emily; Elizabeth Sneed and Candace Tungate, hostesses. Minor will marry Derrick Keltner at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22 at Campbellsville Christian Church.

  • Springhouse Dedication

    A dedication of the springhouse on the Hiestand House property was hosted on Oct. 25. As a memorial to the late Richard Stewart Hiestand, his daughters contributed $10,000 toward the $18,000 necessary to re-construct the springhouse. Utah Canada of Campbellsville did the site preparation work while Steve Flinchum, also of Campbellsville, was the contractor. Glenn Stephens of Columbia did the stonework. Dr. Robert Clark of Campbellsville gave the dedicatory prayer during the ceremony.

  • Davis attends Family Fun Day

    Jon Davis, a Bear member of Pack 777, attended Family Fun Day in LaRue County on Oct. 11. He earned his BB, archery, soccer, astronomy, compass and maps belt loops. Davis is the son of Johnny and Julie Davis. His grandparents are Olen and Selena Bagby, Billy and Diane Price and the late Curtis Hudson and Jerry Davis. Great-grandmothers are Gracie Wood and Faye Blaydes.

  • Vaughn Kids Corner

    Lily Aliceson Vaughn, born on Oct. 28, is the daughter of Chad and Shayla Vaughn of Campbellsville. She also has a big brother, Benjamin Allen Vaughn. Her grandparents are David and Alice Vaughn of Campbellsville, Debbie Bowles of Louisville and Benny and Mary Susan Judd of Russell Springs. Great-grandparents are Nell Vaughn of Campbellsville, Delbert and Alice Bowles of Louisville, Ruhel and Ruth Judd of Greensburg and the late Nadine Judd, Marshall Vaughn and Elbert and Pauline Rafferty.

     

  • Malone-Gardner

    Shawna Marie Malone and James Brandon Gardner will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, Nov. 22.

    Malone is the daughter of Larry Malone and Richard and Sharon Knopp and a 2003 graduate of Taylor County High School.

    Gardner, the son of Ray and Judy Gardner, is a 2003 graduate of Marion County High School.

    The couple have a son, Ethan Michael Gardner.

    The wedding ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Loretto. A reception will follow at St. Joe Community Center.

    All friends and relatives are invited to attend.

  • Kilby family gathers for annual reunion

    The annual Kilby family and friends reunion was hosted on Saturday, Oct. 18 at Acton Retreat Center with 49 present.

    Those attending from out of state were Allen and Christine Kilby of Baltimore, Md., Don and Carol Kilby Edwards of Abingdon, Md., John and Betty Rogers and Dennis Farris, all of Bristol, Tenn., Peter and Sharon Wagner Mai and Ella Kilby Wagner, all of Ocala, Fla., Larry Wagner of Jacksonville, Fla., Bill and Ruth Kilby Van Cleave of Boulder, Colo., and Stan and Dr. Vicki Van Cleave-Lawrence of Midlothian, Va.

  • Thomas-Sanders

    Tara Whitney Thomas and Kasey Adam Sanders exchanged wedding vows on July 19 at Campbellsville Christian Church.

    Minister Joe Hatchett performed the ceremony.

    The bride is the daughter of Richard and Darlene Britton and John and Lisa Thomas, all of Campbellsville. Her grandparents are John and Helen Mattingly of Calvary and the late Jack and Dotty Thomas.

  • Tungate Anniversary

    James B. and Betty Barnett Tungate of Campbellsville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 13 at their home.

    The Tungates were married on July 12, 1958.

    A reception was hosted by their children - Diane and Bobby Minor, Tim and Rhonda Tungate and Kerry and Pam Tungate, all of Campbellsville.

    They also have eight grandchildren.
