  • American Legion Post 82 elects officers

    Edwards-O'Banion Post 82 American Legion hosted its yearly elections on May 7. The officers will serve through May 2010.   • Beasley-Bland

    Jim and Kathy Beasley of Rogersville, Tenn. announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Misty M. Beasley, to Timothy C. Bland, son of Timmy and Kellie Bland of Campbellsville.

    Beasley is the granddaughter of Gladys Ilene Lawson and the late Rev. Sturm Lawson and Mr. and Mrs. William Thomas Beasley.

    She is a 1998 graduate of Cherokee High School and also has a license as a phlebotomy technician. She is employed as a consumer services representative at Holston Electric Cooperative.

  • Williams honored with bridal shower

  • Lions advocate for several services

    Campbellsville Lions Club is a member of the International Association of Lions.

    The clubs provide services for the community, state, nation and world. The Lions are the world's largest civic organization, with the motto of "We Serve."

    They are advocates for:

    - Sight conversation - providing eye exams and prescription eye glasses for qualified patients.

  • DeWitt-Thomas

    Josie Rose DeWitt and Terry Justin Thomas exchanged wedding vows on March 9.

    The bride is the daughter of James Richard DeWitt of Campbellsville and the late Ada Jane "Janie" DeWitt.

    She is a 2007 graduate of Taylor County High School and is employed as a pharmacy technician at Central Drug.

    The groom is the son of Stephen Alan Thomas and Elizabeth Ann Thomas, both of Campbellsville.

    He is a 2006 graduate of Taylor County High School and is employed at Hord's Landscaping.

  • Zimmerman-Sensenig

    Holly Jade Zimmerman of Elk Horn and Matthew Paul Sensenig of Tunas, Mo. will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, June 6.

    Zimmerman is the daughter of Glenn and Crystal Zimmerman of Elk Horn. Her grandparents are Noah and Amelia Wenger of Elk Horn, Mary Zimmerman of Leonardtown, Md., and the late Harvey Zimmerman.

    Sensenig is the son of Jeffrey and Christina Sensenig of Tunas. His grandparents are Phares and Margaret Sensenig of Tunas.

    He is self-employed.

    The wedding ceremony will take place at 9:30 a.m. at a private residence. Invitations have been sent.

  • Girl Scouts visit Bernheim Forest

    Taylor County Girl Scout Troop 2164 took a trip to Bernheim Forest. They hiked various trails and saw a variety of Kentucky trees and wildflowers. The scouts also climbed Bernheim's fire tower, learned its history and admired the view of the area from the top.   • Newton-Newton

    Jeffrey and Cathy Newton announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Jenny Lynn Newton, to John Eric Newton, son of Michael and Linda Newton, all of Campbellsville.

    Jenny is the granddaughter of Lynwood and Juanita Newton and Leonard Ford, all of Campbellsville, and the late Annette Ford.

    Eric is the grandson of Doris Jean Newton of Campbellsville.

    The wedding ceremony will take place at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 23 at Good Hope Baptist Church. A reception will follow in the Good Hope Christian Life Center.

  • Parsons-Metcalf

    Amanda Jo Parsons and Joseph Brent Metcalf, both of Bardstown, will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, May 23.

    Parsons is the daughter of Doug and Jo Farmer of Campbellsville. Her grandparents are Fonzie and Bonnie Farmer and Alta Gabehart, all of Campbellsville, and the late Jack Gabehart.

    She is a 1999 graduate of Taylor County High School and is employed at Certicell in Louisville.

    Metcalf is the son of Teddy and Verna Metcalf of Holy Cross. His grandparents are the late Thurman and Cecelia Downs and John and May Metcalf.

  • Rakel Kids Corner

    Karlee Brynn Rakel is the 4-year-old daughter of Eddie and Jaclyn Rakel of Campbellsville. Her grandparents are Scott and Marilyn Martin of Campbellsville and Millie and Jeff Coahran of Edinburgh, Ind. Her great-grandparents are Oleda Curry, Howard and Alice Martin, all of Campbellsville, Brad and Louise Miller of Columbia and the late Howard Curry.
