Campbellsville Christian Church dedicated a tree at Miller Park on Aug. 26 as part of its "Rooted In God's Love" initiative.

The tree was planted as a gift to the community and to serve as a lasting reminder that Campbellsville Christian Church has roots in the community and is called to live out the greatest commandment.

Chelsea Gray of Campbellsville and Zachary Young of Louisville announce the birth of a son, Zyron Allan Young, at 1:14 p.m. on Sept. 2 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville. He weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and was 19.75 inches long.

Grandparents are Billy and Leetta Dial and Chris Gray of Campbellsville and Myron Young of Greensburg.

Great-grandparents are Pine Lee Anderson of Greensburg and Robert and Jeanne Lentz and Joe and Ruth Gray, all of Campbellsville.

Shawn and Shelley Bowen Hamilton of Campbellsville were recently honored with a baby shower.

The Hamiltons were expecting their baby on Sept. 20.

Campbellsville resident Carolyn Ogden recently won an award for a painting she entered in a competition at the Kentucky State Fair. The Whip Mix Corp. sponsors a purchase award for a watercolor painting each year.

Ogden's painting was entitled "Washday in April." It is of a photograph of her grandmother, Mary Eva Phillips Wise, taken in the 1940s.

Ogden has two sons, Todd Parker of Louisville and Kent Parker of Campbellsville, and four grandchildren. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 2005.
