  • Birth Announcements for Dec. 10

    Brianna and William Keltner of Campbellsville announce the birth of a son, William Lane Keltner, at 10:27 p.m. on Oct. 31 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. He weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces and was 19.5 inches long.

    Grandparents are Tammy and Jerry Owen and Lorie and Jimmie Keltner, all of Campbellsville.

    Great-grandparents are Dorothy and Allen Owen of Stanley, N.Y., and Betty Keltner and Ellen and Eddie Hahn, all of Campbellsville.

  • Kiwanis Club donates coats

     

    The Campbellsville Kiwanis Club made its annual donation of coats to Campbellsville and Taylor County schools recently.

    Each year, the club buys coats for needy children through the Family Resource Offices at Campbellsville and Taylor County elementary schools.

    The "Coats for Kids" Program is one the club's largest service projects each year.

  • Girl Scouts decorate Christmas tree

     

    Girl Scout Troop 1149 decorated the Christmas tree at Campbellsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Nov. 15.

  • Staed, Morris wed

     

    Michelle Kristen Staed and David Timothy Morris of Danville were married Saturday, June 23, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Danville. Father Tom Farell performed the ceremony.

    Staed is the daughter of Gregory and Renee Staed of Danville. Her grandparents are Roger Stephenson of Danville and the late George and June Ellene Staed.

    Morris is the son of Dennis and Frances Morris of Campbellsville. His grandparents are the late Thurman and Hortense Watson and Thomas and Ruby Morris.

  • Scouts scout for food

     

    Boy Scout Pack 777 recently participated in the annual Scouting for Food drive, which ended Nov. 17.

    On that day, more than 30,000 Scouts conducted the largest single-day canned food drive in the Taylor County community.

    The drive teaches the values of citizenship and service to youth members and helps thousands of families in the region.

    After checking expiration dates, the scouts were able to donate more than 300 items of food to the Taylor County Food Pantry.

  • Whitleys celebrate anniversary

     

    Donald and Gwendolyn Kelly Whitley of Elizabethtown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Dec. 1, at New Hope Community Church in Elizabethtown.

    The Whitleys were married Dec. 2, 1962, at Kerr Memorial United Methodist in Bowling Green by The Rev. Wilbur Whitley.

    They have two children, Donald K. Whitley of Elizabethtown and Marcus Whitley of Leitchfield.

    Mr. Whitley is a retired right-of-way supervisor for the Kentucky Highway Department. Mrs. Whitley is a retired district office supervisor for General Telephone.

  • Smiths celebrate anniversary

     

    Terrance A. and Sue E. Smith of Campbellsville celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Dec. 2.

    The Smiths graduated from Western Reserve High School in Wakeman, Ohio, and were married at Wakeman Congregational Church.

    The Smiths moved to Campbellsville eight years ago and are both retired.

    They have two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Veronica Smith of Edinburg, Texas, and Jeff and Melony Smith of Galion, Ohio; a daughter and son-in-law, Candi and Barry Johnson of Independence; and nine grandchildren.

    Jessica and David Gabbert of Campbellsville announce the birth of a son, Evan Moore Gabbert, at 8:10 a.m. on Oct. 4 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville. He weighed 9 pounds 1 ounce and was 20.25 inches long.

    Grandparents are Calvin and Tammy Jude of Campbellsville and Charlene Gabbert of Campbellsville.

    Great-grandparents are Pat and Barb Moore and Orville and Margie Hughes, all of Campbellsville.

  • Smiths celebrate anniversary

     

    Thomas Troy "Smitty" and Belinda "Beaux" Wilkins Smith of Green County recently celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary. Mrs. Smith is a former Campbellsville resident.

    The celebration was at the couple's home, Misfit Farm in Green County.

    Mr. Smith, a Lebanon native, and Mrs. Smith, a Columbus, Miss., native, were married on Oct. 31, 1997, in Lebanon.

  • Sabo, Dornbrook to wed

     

    Holly Sabo of Campbellsville and Andrew Dornbrook of Lexington announce their engagement.

    Sabo is the daughter of Jim and Linda Sabo of Campbellsville. She is a 2006 graduate of Taylor County High School and a 2010 graduate of Campbellsville University.

    Dornbrook graduated from St. Xavier High School in 2005 and in 2009 from Xavier University.

    Sabo and Dornbrook will graduate next year from the University of Kentucky.

    Dornbrook is the son of Thom and Barb Dornbrook of Medina, Ohio, and Donna Dornbrook of Louisville.
