  • Oakeses celebrate 65th anniversary

     

    Stanley and Henrietta Oakes of Campbellsville celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Oct. 17.

    They were married in Marion County in 1947 and have two children, Mark Oakes and Linda Russell, four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

  • CHS Class of 1957 has reunion

     

    Campbellsville High School Class of 1957 met for a reunion on Sept. 1 at Campbellsville Baptist Church.

  • Tebbs Bend Nature Area to be developed

    Officials recently received a grant to develop about four miles of trails for hikers.

  • Travels with the CKNJ

     

    Several local residents recently took a cruise aboard the Carnival Destiny Cruise Ship and took along a copy of the Central Kentucky News-Journal.

    Pat Malone recently attended a national Fantastic Sam's convention in Las Vegas, Nev., and took along a copy of the Central Kentucky News-Journal.

  • Hunts celebrate 62nd wedding anniversary

     

    Edward and Geneva Hunt of the Mac community celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on Sept. 9. Their children are David Hunt and Phyllis Sallee.

  • Prim, Moss to wed

     

    Tessa Prim and Matthew Moss of Columbia announce their engagement.

    Prim is the daughter of Joey Keith of Columbia, Mr. and Mrs. Jason Burton of Russell Springs and the late Beccy Keith. She is the granddaughter of Bruce Thompson of Columbia and the late Shannon Thompson.

    Moss is the son of Harrison and Shirley Moss of Columbia. He is the grandson of Bettie and Bradley Burton of Campbellsville, Pee Wee Dulworth and Jerry Dial of Columbia and the late Irene Dial and Dillon Moss.

  • Cox, Humphress to wed

     

    Andrea Brooke Cox of Campbellsville and Nicholas Todd Humphress of Elk Horn announce their engagement.

    Cox is the daughter of Doug and Ann Cox of Campbellsville. Her grandparents are Jay and Jewell Cox of Campbellsville and Jake and Rachel Willis of Columbia.

    She is a 2009 graduate of Taylor County High School and attends Elizabethtown Community College, where she is majoring in business management. She is employed at Kroger.

  • Newton, Hardesty to wed

     

    Kim Newton and Paul Hardesty of Campbellsville announce their engagement.

    Newton is the daughter of Orville and Rena Newton of Campbellsville.

    The ceremony will be Saturday, Oct. 27, at 6 p.m. at Pitman Valley Baptist Church.

    All family and friends are invited to attend.

  • Randolph, Graves to wed

     

    Lauren Elizabeth Randolph of Cookeville, Tenn., and Kyle Davis Graves of Campbellsville announce their engagement.

    Randolph is the daughter of Roger and Jane Randolph of Baxter, Tenn.

    She is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Hugh E. Vincent Jr. of Anderson, S.C., Elizabeth Gribble of Cookeville and the late Johnnie Randolph.

    Graves is the son of Murrell and Gertie Graves of Campbellsville.

    He is the grandson of Addina Graves of Glasgow and the late Lem Davis Graves and Jerry and Ruth Staley.
