  • Wilsons to celebrate anniversary

     

    Buford and Marjorie Wilson of Campbellsville will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Dec. 1, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Early's Chapel United Methodist Church. The couple was married Dec. 4, 1948.

    The Wilsons have a daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Paul Akridge, and a granddaughter, Mariah Akridge.

    All family and friends are invited to attend.

  • Birth Announcements for November 21

    Samantha Hicks and Devin Miller of Campbellsville announce the birth of a son, Deovion Terrell Miller, at 9:42 p.m. on Oct. 25 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville. He weighed 6 pounds, 6 ounces and was 19 inches long.

    Grandparents are Kathy Hicks, Howard Hicks, Debra Miller and Terry Miller, all of Campbellsville.

    Great-grandparents are John Underwood of Greensburg, Bloyd Edwards, Ellamae Edwards, George Miller and Bona Miller of Campbellsville and the late Maemee Underwood.

  • Residents donated to prom dress drive

     

    The Granted Grace Foundation recently received more than 140 prom dresses and 30 pairs of shoes from Campbellsville residents.

    Founder Melissa Marshbanks said the organization's mission is to make an impact on deserving girls by providing them with free prom dresses and long-term mentors.

    Awaken Boutique will serve as a drop-off location in Campbellsville.

  • Haliday receives TRH Hero Award

     

    Lisa Haliday received the Taylor Regional Hospital Hero Award on Nov. 7 at the TRH annual service awards banquet at Campbellsville University. 

  • Phillips receives TRH Legend Award

     

    Richard Phillips received the Taylor Regional Hospital Legend Award on Nov. 7 at the TRH annual service awards banquet at Campbellsville University.

    Phillips is a 25-year team member at TRH and is the staff development coordinator of the TRH Learning & Resource Center.

  • Mobley celebrates 80th birthday

     

    Russ Mobley, standing in the center of the back row, of Campbellsville, recently celebrated his 80th birthday with family and friends during a reception at Campbellsville Baptist Church.

  • A Day of Giving

     

    Several residents gave food and monetary donations to support the needy this holiday season at the Day of Giving Food Drive last Wednesday.

    The event was sponsored by Creations Sportswear, K-Country 105.7, Q-104, Campbellsville University, Asbury Church, AutoSmart of Campbellsville and the Central Kentucky News-Journal.

    Allen Gaddis, CEO of the GADDCO Group, said community participation this year was double that of the two previous years.

    All donations were given to the Taylor County Food Pantry.

  • Local exhibits at North American International Junior Heifer Show

     

    Blake Woodrum, 12, takes a break in the barn with his Angus heifer after a long day at the North American International Junior Heifer Show.

    This is Woodrum's first year exhibiting at the NAILE. Blake's parents are Michael and Marsha Woodrum of Campbellsville.

  • Blairs to celebrate anniversary

     

    Darrell and Wilma Shipp Blair of Campbellsville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.

    A reception for the Blairs will be Saturday, Nov. 23, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Taylor County Senior Center on South Jackson Street.

    The Blairs have a daughter, Sonya Pitz of Elizabethtown; a son, Gaylon Blair of Campbellsville; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

    All friends and family are invited to attend. The couple requests no gifts.

  • Couples graduate from TRH prenatal classes

     

    Six couples recently graduated from Taylor Regional Hospital's prenatal and childbirth classes.

    Classes are taught on Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. and the first Saturday of every month from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at TRH's meeting room.

    Classes are free to anyone delivering at TRH. They are taught by Nicole Collins, RN, CCE.
