  • Sabo, Dornbrook to wed

     

    Holly Sabo of Campbellsville and Andrew Dornbrook of Lexington announce their engagement.

    Sabo is the daughter of Jim and Linda Sabo of Campbellsville. She is a 2006 graduate of Taylor County High School and a 2010 graduate of Campbellsville University.

    Dornbrook graduated from St. Xavier High School in 2005 and in 2009 from Xavier University.

    Sabo and Dornbrook will graduate next year from the University of Kentucky.

    Dornbrook is the son of Thom and Barb Dornbrook of Medina, Ohio, and Donna Dornbrook of Louisville.

  • Teachers donate to food pantry

     

    Taylor County Retired Teachers recently donated $251 to the Taylor County Food Pantry.

    Presenting the check to Marietta Moyers, a volunteer at the Food Pantry for more than 20 years, are retired teachers Janet Clark and Tillie Netherland.

  • BPW recognizes residents during women's week

     

    The local Kentucky Federation of Business and Professional Women had its annual National Business Women's Week from Oct. 8-12.

    Several Taylor County women and a Taylor County man received gifts.

  • Hash, Gaines to wed

     

    Megan Hash and Cameron Gaines of Campbellsville announce their engagement.

    Hash is the daughter of Anthony and Denise Hash of Campbellsville. Her grandparents are Gowdy and Vienise Hash and JC and Juanita Shofner, all of Campbellsville, Ruth Schroerlucke of Mt. Washington and the late John "Skip" Schroerlucke.

    She is a 2007 graduate of Taylor County High School and a 2011 graduate of Campbellsville University with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education.

  • Phillips family honored at WKU veterans ceremony

     

    A Campbellsville family was honored recently during Western Kentucky University's ceremony on Nov. 10 honoring veterans and members of the military.

    During a football game, WKU hosted several events and honored the family of Patti and Steve Phillips.

    Their son, Aaron, is serving active duty with the U.S. Navy in Hawaii and will graduate from WKU this year.

    he Phillips family was honored with a video message from Aaron during the ceremony.

    Members of the Phillips family have served in the U.S. armed forces for 58 years.

  • Campbellsville Industries installs steeple at Regent University

     

    Campbellsville Industries recently installed a steeple and cross for the chapel at Regent University in Virginia Beach, Va.

    Pat Robertson, the founder and chairman of Christian Broadcasting Network, the 700 Club and Regent University, led CBN staff and Regent University in the dedication service for the installation of a 65-foot steeple and a 23.5 karat gold leafed 9-foot cross.

    Campbellsville Industries, "The Steeple People," located in Campbellsville, made the cross and steeple.

  • Birth Announcements for Nov. 8

    Bethany and Jeremy Sprowles of Campbellsville announce the birth of a daughter, Brylee Elizabeth Sprowles, at 1:49 p.m. on Aug. 23 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville. She weighed 6 pounds, 5 ounces and was 19.75 inches long.

    Grandparents are Cary and Jim Noe, Dixie Sprowles and Fred Purvis.

    Great-grandparents are Clarence Colvin, Louise and Elbert Shofner and Goldie Sprowles.

  • Myers, Holland to wed

    Jessica Elizabeth Matney Myers and Arthur Warren Holland Jr. of Campbellsville announce their engagement.

    Myers is the daughter of Eugene and Shirley Matney. She is a 1996 graduate of Taylor County High School.

    Holland is the son of Arthur Holland Sr. and the late Rose Holland. He is a 1990 graduate of Chariho Regional High School.

    The wedding ceremony will be Saturday, Nov. 17, at 1 p.m. at Greensburg United Methodist Church in Greensburg.

  • Bankses celebrate anniversary

    Vivian and Leonard Banks of Stanford celebrated their 51st anniversary on Oct. 14.

    The couple was married in 1961 and they have two daughters, Debbie Gibson and Lynnette Gross, both of Stanford. They also have four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

    Mr. Banks is the son of the late Lee and Maxine Banks. His sisters include Bethal Harmon of Danville and the late Willa Gilbert and Georgia Todd.

    Mrs. Banks is the daughter of the late Rev. J.V. and Hazel Mullen. Her sisters are Nancy Brockman of Campbellsville and Peggy Boulware.
