  • McCubbins to celebrate 60th wedding anniversary

     

    Stanley Sr. and Betty McCubbin of Campbellsville will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Jan. 11, with a reception at All Occasions from 2 to 4 p.m.

    The McCubbinses were married Jan. 14, 1955.

    They have a son and daughter-in-law, Jr. and Kathy McCubbin; three grandchildren, Stan McCubbin III and his wife, Brandy, Todd McCubbin and his wife, Liz, and Andrea Goodman.

    They also have six great-grandchildren, Logan Parker, Callie McCubbin, Chloe McCubbin, Jayden McCubbin, Kenley McCubbin and Kayden Long.

  • Gowin, Mattingly to wed

     

    Ciera Brooke Gowin and Adam Corey Mattingly of Calvary announce their engagement.

    Gowin is the daughter of Cindy Gowin and Brian and Tammy Gowin.

    Mattingly is the son of Alan and Kim Mattingly.

    The ceremony will be Saturday, Jan. 10, at Fairview Baptist Church in Mannsville at 4 p.m. A reception will follow at Center Square in Lebanon.

    Family and friends are invited to attend. Invitations were sent to out-of-town guests only.

  • Citizens Bank donates toys to local drives

     

    Citizens Bank and Trust Co. employees recently donated toys to the community Toys for Kids and Toys for Tots drive.

    A new year always brings its share of resolutions aimed to improve our health, body and mind. For a caregiver, perhaps the most important resolution that can be made is to take time for self. When you take care of yourself, you will be healthier, have more energy and enthusiasm to keep on giving care and feel better about yourself overall.

    Here are some tips on how to carve out some "me" time in the next year.

  • Birth Announcements for January 1

    Jamie Gail Flatt and Michael F. Harris of Knifley announce the birth of a daughter, Bella Gail Harris, at 12:57 p.m. on Dec. 18 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville. She weighed 6 pounds and was 18 inches long.

    Emily Melson of Columbia and Obra Huff of Greensburg announce the birth of a son, Jayden Hunter Huff, at 5:29 a.m. on Dec. 19 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville. He weighed 8 pounds, 1 ounce and was 20.5 inches long.

  • Republican women's club officers announced

     

    Taylor County Republican Women's Club officers for next year were recently announced.

    Marlyn Shreve is president. Cindy Bale is first vice president and second vice president is Tina Draper.

    Kathy Larimore is third vice president, Tonya Young is treasurer, Pat Phillips is historian and Barbara Gribbins is parliamentarian.

    Sylvia Marcum is secretary and corresponding secretary is Margaret Stewart.

    Greg Gribbins installed the officers.

  • Boy Scout Troop participates in Wreaths Across America

     

    Boy Scout Troop 616 members in Campbellsville participated in Wreaths Across America on Dec. 13 at Lebanon National Cemetery.

    The scouts volunteered to lay wreaths.

  • TRH presents service awards to auxiliary volunteers

     

    Taylor Regional Hospital auxiliary volunteers had their annual awards luncheon on Dec. 2.

    With 47 workers, the auxiliary has given 9,432.25 volunteer hours this year to help TRH by working at the information desk, surgery department, emergency department, radiology department, cancer center, cafeteria, greeter and gift shop.

    The auxiliary also collected canned food items to be donated to the local food pantry as part of their service to the community.
