    As I get older and as I read the Bible, I find myself growing more and more old fashioned - really, really old fashioned. For instance, I try to conduct myself in my marriage the way God intended it in the beginning.

    Now let me mention right up front that there is so much for me to do within the marriage that I don't have much time at all to critique my wife. Suffice it to say, she's better at being a wife than I am at being a husband.

  • Lusk honored with luncheon

    Karl Lusk was honored with a luncheon for his years of service to St. Thomas' Episcopal/Lutheran Church in Campbellsville. Lusk recently left St. Thomas' to take a position at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Bardstown, which is closer to his home.     We are in a season of transition at our congregation; but then, any growing congregation is always in a season of transition. In fact, the world in which we live is in constant transition.

    It's easy to get discouraged when there's so much transition and change. "Why can't we just do it the way we've always done?" "I just can't find the time." "I have too much to do; I'm too busy." We've all said these words.

  • LWC chancellor to speak at Asbury

    Lindsey Wilson College Chancellor John B. Begley will preach Sunday, Aug. 30 at Asbury United Methodist Church, located at 9600 New Columbia Road in Campbellsville.

    Begley will preach on "How to handle life's disappointments."

  • Grace Missionary Baptist hosting revival

    Grace Missionary Baptist Church is currently hosting a revival, which began on Sunday and will continue through this Sunday or longer.

    Pastor Bill Gray along with evangelist Murphy Buel from Pikeville are the speakers.

  • Cookout will benefit mission trip to China

    The Rev. Earl Rodgers has taken on the task of raising funds to help support a mission trip to China.

    Drew Underwood, Warren Acres and Kevin Mings are planning a trip to rural China, where they will backpack in and deliver Bibles. The three are also preparing for future groups to follow in their steps. This is their first trip to China.

    Rodgers will cook "a feast of some of the best barbecue available," he says. "We will feed all, regardless of his or her ability to pay. God will handle securing the funds."

  • OLPH to host Stormin' Heaven!

    Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church will host Stormin' Heaven! on Wednesday, Sept. 2.

    The event, which is from 7 to 8:45 p.m., will feature Rick Elias, co-founder with Rich Mullins of the Ragamuffin Band.

    All faiths are welcome to attend. CDs will be available to purchase following the event.

Why does he look the other way when mothers drown or burn their own children? Or why does he seem preoccupied as pedophiles harm one child after another? Why?
