  • Meadowview Baptist to show church history

    Meadowview Baptist Church will present "Christianity: The First 2000 Years" on Sunday nights at 6:30 p.m. throughout January and February.

    Beginning this weekend, the critically acclaimed program from the A&E Television Network chronicles the history of Christianity from the Crucifixion of Jesus through the 20th Century.

    Everyone is invited to come and learn more about the history and development of the church.

    Meadowview is located at 1211 Elk Horn Road. Brent Gupton is pastor.

  • Victory Church has new pastor

    Victory Church on KY 1799 has a new pastor and is inviting the community to meet him and join in a fellowship meal this weekend.

    Bro. Carl Cross of Clinton County, Ky. will speak at the Sunday service. The meal will follow.

    Cross has been in the ministry for more than 30 years and comes to Campbellsville from Dickens Chapel Church in Albany, Ky.

    The community is welcome.

    Leona Crain celebrated 22 years of service at Campbellsville Baptist Church on Oct. 24.

    Crain is the ministry assistant to the Discipleship Ministry Team.

  • A friendly wager

     

    Sullivan's Sunday School class at Campbellsville Baptist Church and the Co-Ed I Sunday School class at Palestine Baptist challenged each other to a friendly bowling match at Phillips' Lanes on Dec. 5.

    Part of the challenge was to bring canned goods for the local food pantry.

    More than 100 cans were collected.

  • Green River Memorial Baptist team hits 'financial peace' jackpot


    Green River Memorial Baptist Church was one of three winners in the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University Great Giveaway Challenge.

    Aaron Gabehart, youth minister of GRMBC and coordinator of the class, received an e-mail with the news of Dave's Great Giveaway Challenge. The challenge offered $5,000 to three groups, to be given away $1,000 at a time to five causes.

    The group's first task was to create a video briefly describing the causes they chose and how the money would be given.

  • OLPH Thanksgiving social

     

    The Knights of Columbus, Father Patrick Creed Council #12923, hosted its Annual Thanksgiving Social at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Saturday, Nov. 13.

    The meal consisted of roast turkey, mashed potatoes, corn bread dressing, green beans, cranberry sauce and a choice of desserts. There was a choice of either eating in the church hall or having a takeout meal.

    The meal eaten in the hall was offered for a donation and the take out meal was $8. Meals were delivered at no cost to numerous homebound individuals.

  • Muldraugh Hill pastor celebrates 30 years

     

    The Rev. Victor James Stansbury is celebrating 30 years of serving Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church.

    Stansbury was born Sept. 2, 1945, in Nelson County, Ky. He preached his first sermon when he was just 16 years old.  He graduated from My Old Kentucky Home High School in June 1963, from Berea College in January 1968 and from Southern Seminary in June 1972.

  • Pleasant Hill revival begins Sunday

    Pleasant Hill Baptist Church will have revival services Oct. 24-27.

    Evangelist will be the Rev. Joel Carwile, pastor of Valley View Baptist Church. Lois Jane will be the music evangelist.

    Services begin Sunday with Bible study at 10 a.m., revival at 11 a.m. and an evening service at 6:30 p.m.

    A fellowship time will be after church in the Christian Life Center.

    Services continue Monday through Wednesday evenings at 7.

    A nursery will be provided, and the community is welcome.

  • Southside Christian celebrates 30 years

    Southside Christian Church will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a homecoming on Sunday.

    The event will be a reunion of family and friends reflecting on God's goodness and blessings.

    Southside's congregation assembled for the first time on Sept. 28, 1980, in a home. On Oct. 8 that year, a commercial building and 1.4 acres were purchased. Four days later, the group met in its new location with 32 in attendance.
