    John Holmes begins his first season on the PGA TOUR today when the 2001 Taylor County High School graduate and University of Kentucky All-American plays in the Sony Open in Honolulu.

    Campbellsville Woman’s Club hosted its annual Christmas Home Tour on Sunday, Dec. 11

    Frost-Arnett Co. in Campbellsville donated $1,654 in support of the American Red Cross National Disaster Relief Fund for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

    Ronald McDonald visited Campbellsville Elementary School after the school collected 1 million soda can tabs. Money generated from the tabs benefits families who need to stay at the Ronald McDonald House.

    Yuma Baptist Church will air a special film on the life of missionary Jim Elliott’s stay with the Auca Indian tribe.

    Alberta Williams Durham, 93, of Campbellsville died Monday, Nov. 28, 2005.

    The annual Compassionate Friends worldwide candle lighting ceremony will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11.

    Elsie Miller was recently named Kentucky's 2005 Beekeeper of the Year.

    Shelbie Ann-Marie Pierce celebrated her first birthday Nov. 22.

    Strong winds toppled several trees in Taylor County on Monday but little damage was reported.

    Elbert and Louise Shofner will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, Dec. 4.
