    April 28, 2005

    Fayth Wise celebrated her sixth birthday with her classmates at Campbellsville Christian Church Center for Education.

    The Taylor County Health Department will soon have a new home. Members of the Board of Health had an emergency meeting on Friday and agreed to buy 8.5 acres of land along the Campbellsville Bypass for $205,000.

    Dana Caulk has been named the Taylor Regional Hospital Ambassador for March 2005.

    Amanda Cundiff was honored with a baby shower on Jan. 31 at Ponderosa Steakhouse. 

    Madison Grace Hardin celebrated her second birthday on March 30 with a party at her home.

    Bailey Wise, a fifth grade student at Kentucky Christian School, received a superior rating in the Kentucky Creative Writing Contest.

    Phil Hays recently received his clinical white coat from Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine.

    Chester Lee Blakeman, 93, of Campbellsville, Ky., died at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, April 4, 2005 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Ky.

    Jim and Missie Collison of Campbellsville, Ky., announce the birth of a son, Jordan Walker, at 8:08 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville.

    April 7, 2005

    Chris Brunelle will spend about a month recuperating from a suicide bomber attack that left one soldier dead and Brunelle and another solider burned. All three were in Iraq with the 623rd Field Artillery (Alpha Battery) based in Tompkinsville.

    Darlene Humphress and the Central Kentucky News-Journal have been recognized with the American Cancer Society’s 2004 Media Award for Print Best Single Story for a rural market.

     Loretta Hash, RN, recently completed her bachelor of science degree in nursing. Hash is the infection control nurse and chemotherapy department director of Taylor Regional Hospital.

     Alice Arnett has been named the Taylor Regional Hospital ambassador for December.

     Austin Tedder has been named a president's scholar at Western Kentucky University for the fall 2004 semester.

     Michael and Jamie Robison of Campbellsville announce the birth of a son, Landon Michael, at 2:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 14 at The Medical Center in Bowling Green.

     Ada Hedgespeth, Palestine Baptist Church’s oldest member, was honored on her 90th birthday recently.

     Sarah M. Reynolds of Campbellsville has been named to the dean’s list for the fall term at Hanover College in Hanover, Ind.

    Billy B. Smith was honored with Campbellsville/Taylor County Rescue’s Sarah “Mom” Weeks “You Can Do It” award for helping save the life of a high school classmate last June.

    Della Hunt celebrated her 97th birthday on Sunday, Feb. 6 at Metzmeier Nursing Home.

    The Central Kentucky Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 22 recently honored Rick Benningfield as past president.

    The Joymakers will be in concert on Sunday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

    Jessica Belcher, a senior at Campbellsville University, is the Central Kentucky News-Journal’s newest Journalism Scholars Program intern.
    James Morgan Milby of Campbellsville has been selected to participate in the National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C. from Feb. 15 – 20.

    Dr. J. Chester Badgett was honored on Jan. 16 by members of Campbellsville Baptist Church. Badgett served as pastor of Campbellsville Baptist from Feb. 19, 1950 until his retirement in June 1980.

    Successful deer hunters set another record this past season, harvesting 124,735 deer. The total surpassed the 2003 record of 116,540 and the total of 115,082 during the 2002 season.
