    Numbers from the 2000 U.S. Census count show that the county's population is at 22,927. When the last Census was taken in 1990, Taylor County's population was 21,146.

    Diane Maupin Underwood, 60, of Valdosta, Ga., formerly of Campbellsville, died Thursday, March 29 in Georgia.

    The Social Security office hosted a grand opening and ribbon cutting March 14 at its new location.

    Charles Hunt celebrated Christmas with his family on March 11 after spending 72 days in the hospital and rehabilitation.

    Dean and Kim Pyles of Campbellsville announce the birth of a daughter, Molly Danielle, on Friday, March 23 at 6:51 p.m. at Norton Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.

    Andrea McVay was named to the dean's list at Lindsey Wilson College for the fall 2000 semester.

    The Campbellsville Post Office has a new flag flying in front of its East Broadway location in recognition of high marks from a customer satisfaction survey.

    Beginning on Monday, Kentucky Christian School will open its enrollment to the public for the 2001-2002 school year.

    Local Girl Scouts will present a fashion revue on Saturday to raise funds for the Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana's 2001 Family and Community Partnership Campaign.

    Clarkie Glasscock, 61, of Old Summersville Road in Campbellsville, died Thursday, March 1 in Louisville.

    March 2 marks the 114th Word Day of Prayer observance. This year's event, titled "Informed Prayer and Prayerful Action," has been written by Christian Women of Samoa and is based on the Scriptural passage found in Esther 4:1-6.

    Ricky McCarty of Campbellsville has been recognized as a member of the Murray State University dean's list for credits earned during the fall 2000 term.
