    Marty and Julie Shields of Campbellsville announce the marriage of their daughter, Bethany Sue, to Robert Chad Shively, son of Paul and Sherry Shively, also of Campbellsville. The wedding ceremony will take place on Saturday, June 22, at 2 p.m. at Lowell Avenue Baptist Church.

    Dwight and Dorothy Crabtree will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday, June 21.

    Edward and Barbara Baise announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Brittany Ann, to Andrew Blake Richey, son of Don and Joy Richey of Central City.

    Campbellsville High School graduate Tasha Phillips plays Saturday for the Kentucky All Stars in their annual series against Indiana.

    Charles and Lois Melton of Campbellsville will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary on Sunday, June 16.

    True Vibe, a Christian recording group featuring Nathan Gaddis of Campbellsville, will be in concert on Friday, June 28, in Louisville.

    Kristen Dowling and Kristin Rucker, both juniors at Taylor County High School, have been chosen as 2002 participants in the Center for Rural Development's Rogers Scholars program.

    Campbellsville University School of Music faculty member Nevalyn Price Moore has been honored as the 2002 Kentucky Music Educators Association College/University Teacher of the Year.

    Kimberly Johnson of Campbellsville has earned the opportunity to sing at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

    May 23, 2002

    A dream out of tragedy came true on Sunday. The Central Kentucky Chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police dedicated flags at the Johnny Edrington Memorial. On the Sunday following the attack on Sept. 11, the FOP had a memorial service for the emergency workers who died in the attack.

    Taylor County Republican Women's Club donated $50 to Project Graduation.

    May 16, 2002

    Bonnie Mikel, 50, of Miller Road in Campbellsville, died on Tuesday, May 7, 2002, as a result of an automobile crash.

    Taylor County Middle School eighth-grade chorus recently received a distinguished rating at the Kentucky Music Educator Association's Regional Choral Festival held at John Hardin High School in Elizabethtown.

    Elkhorn United Methodist Church will host a fish fry and gospel singing on Saturday at Acton Retreat Center.

    The Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky has made a donation in remembrance of the late Hattie Louise Lee Brown to the scholarship fund.

    Bus drivers Norris McCawley and Roger Williams are retiring from Taylor County Schools.

    Josh Tucker and Summer Roberts were honored with a wedding shower on Saturday, April 20.
