Manufacturing operations at the Parker-Kalon plant on Roberts Road stopped in 1977 as a result of a strike by members of Teamsters Local 783, of which more than half of the estimated 250 employees at the plant are members.
The strike, according to Robert F. Bihr Jr., industrial relations manager, is because of a dispute involving the terms of a wages and benefits labor contract.
