    Kentucky Post Ron Whitehead and Campbellsville musician Sarah Elizabeth toured Scotland, Iceland and England to sing and read the Commonwealth's poetry.

    Ronnie Sharp, 53, of Wise Road in Campbellsville, died Friday, March 28, in Louisville.

    Jessica Humphress and Jeff Watson of Campbellsville will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, April 12.

    Dustin Campbell celebrated his seventh birthday at Mr. Gatti's with his family and friends.

    U.S. Army Spc. Kelly Underwood, a 1996 Taylor County graduate, is a medic with the Army's 3rd Infantry Division 2nd Brigade, which is among the leading edge of U.S. forces in Iraq.

    Taylor County High School chorus will present its 10th anniversary spring musical on Thursday, March 27, and Friday, March 28.

    Carol Mann and the Rev. Gene Weddle exchanged wedding vows on Friday, March 7, in Gatlinburg, Tenn.

  • From the Past

     

    Manufacturing operations at the Parker-Kalon plant on Roberts Road stopped in 1977 as a result of a strike by members of Teamsters Local 783, of which more than half of the estimated 250 employees at the plant are members.

    The strike, according to Robert F. Bihr Jr., industrial relations manager, is because of a dispute involving the terms of a wages and benefits labor contract.

    Amy Colvin was honored with a personal shower on Feb. 22 at Leanna Cundiff's home.

    Laura Lee Mitchell of Greensburg and John David Marcum of Campbellsville will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, April 5.

    Miller "Sonny" Wilson Jr., 66, of Old Lebanon Road in Campbellsville, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, in Elizabethtown.

    Carl and Ella Holmes will celebrate their 56th wedding anniversary on Saturday, March 1.

    Sierra DeMurray celebrated her fifth birthday on Jan. 30 at her home with her family and friends. She is the daughter of Jason and Kay DeMurray of Campbellsville. She also has a sister, Megan Perkins.

    Team Taylor County Executive Director Kevin Sheilly received Union University's Outstanding Young achiever Award on Feb. 15 in Jackson, Tenn.

    Feb. 20, 2003

    Michael "Mike" Bright, long-time fan of Roy Rogers, died on Feb. 5 of cancer. Rogers' son, Dusty, sang at his funeral.

    Courtney Winkle, representing the junior class, was crowned the 2003 Campbellsville High Basketball Homecoming Queen last week during halftime of the Eagles' game with Hart County.

    Shirley Marie Phillips, 66, of Phillips Lane in Campbellsville, died on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, in Campbellsville after a long illness.

    Jessica Alyn Hammond of Campbellsville and Bobby W. Powell of Taylorsville will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, March 22.

    Roger Dale Witham Jr. celebrated his fourth birthday on Jan. 16 with his friends at Gloworms. He is the son of Roger and Elaine Witham of Campbellsville.

    Allen and Shana Crabtree of Campbellsville announce the birth of a daughter, Molly Elaine, at 11:19 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1.
