    Bill Cassell, public information director for the city of Campbellsville, has resigned to accept a position as instructor with the leadership development section of the Department of Criminal Justice Training in Richmond.

    Bethel Christian Academy kindergarten students celebrated the Christmas season with a program for their families.

    Campbellsville Middle School PTSO hosted a parent-teacher basketball fundraiser on Nov. 15.

    Robin Walls won $1,000 in Christmas cash as the November sales promotion grand-prize winner at AutoSmart, 1731 E. Broadway.

    Heirs of the late Isaac and Rosa Berry have gathered for a family Thanksgiving celebration for many years.

    Herman L. Patton, 75, of South Clark Road in Campbellsville, died at 9 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11, in Huntington, W.Va.

    Fletcher and Christine Wise will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday with a reception hosted by their children and grandchildren.

    Joe Brockman was honored by Parker-Kalon on Nov. 30 after 40 years of service.

    Richie Crews has been named the Taylor Regional Hospital ambassador for October.

    Lacey Pyles is a member of the Teen VIP Program at Metzmeier Nursing Home.

    Frank Page Smith celebrated his 80th birthday in Naples, Fla., on Nov. 21 with family and friends.

    Mandy Hunt was honored with a bridal shower on Nov. 7 at the home of Sandra and Sara Warren.

    Taylor Regional Hospital team member activities committee sponsored a food drive Nov. 1-11 to benefit the Taylor County Ministerial Association Food Pantry.

    Nov. 25, 2004

    About 50 members of Elk Horn Baptist Church helped deliver 85 boxes of food to Taylor Countians on Monday evening, signaling the official start of the community's holiday season.

    Madison Turner won the Central Kentucky News-Journal's Halloween Costume Contest as Dorothy from the "Wizard of Oz" and packed home a plastic pumpkin filled with goodies and treats. Madison is 6 and the daughter of Shawn and Stephanie Turner.

    Local veterans of several branches of the military came to Campbellsville Middle School on Veterans' Day to read to students and share some of their experiences.

    Anna Mae Adams Phillips, 60, of LaPorte, Texas, formerly of Campbellsville, died on Tuesday, Nov. 9, in Laporte.

    Yuma Baptist Church in Elk Horn recently celebrated 50 years of ministry with its homecoming service.

    Judith Moss Eastridge, 58, of Camelot Place in Campbellsville, died on Saturday, Nov. 6, in Campbellsville.

    Linda Dobson will be calling an end to a 32-year career on Nov. 19 when she retires as circulation manager of the Central Kentucky News-Journal.

    Terry Pennington, owner of Creek Side Restaurant, recently reopened his business that was destroyed by fire on April 4. That new location is 1837 New Lebanon Road.

    Mitch Bailey, a Campbellsville native, has been promoted from captain to major by the Kentucky State Police.

    About 1,400 children came trick or treating at the youth center in Miller Park.

    Wal-Mart co-manager Gary Cunningham presented a $500 donation recently to Marietta Moyers at Taylor County Food Pantry.

    Asbury United Methodist Church will host its Asbury Rejuvenation Youth Fest 2004 this weekend.

    Campbellsville Lions Club presented Campbellsville/Taylor County Rescue a check for $250 toward the purchase of glow sticks for Halloween.

    Air Force Airman Shane L. Ward has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

    Phillip and Cindy Underwood of Campbellsville announce the birth of a son, Zachary Thomas, at 12:12 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 24, at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.

    Palestine Baptist Church honored Elizabeth Cave on her 90th birthday during morning worship services on Oct. 3.

    The Taylor Regional Hospital Women’s Center held an open house on Sunday, Oct. 17.

    Lanie Hall celebrated her fifth birthday on Sept. 11 with a princess party. She is the daughter of Doug and Melane Hall.
