    Clelland and Barbara Jo Farris Hubbard will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Aug. 8.

    Joyce Kelley won a 12-place setting of silverware raffled off by Taylor County Republican Women during Campbellsville's Fourth of July celebration.

    John Holmes, a 2001 Taylor County High School graduate who will be a senior this fall at University of Kentucky, has qualified for his second consecutive U.S. Amateur.

    Green River Memorial Baptist Church's youth group recently took a mission trip to Atlanta, Ga., where they worked with the "Church on the Street," one of the largest homeless missions in the southeast United States.

    DeWayne Preston Frazier and Tonya Michelle Tucker, both of Campbellsville, graduated from University of Louisville in May.

    Hazel Parrott, 76, of Grandview Drive in Campbellsville, died on Monday, July 19, 2004, in Elizabethtown.

    Lewis and Wanda Bertram Weatherford will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception on Sunday, July 25.

    Former Rescue Chief Charles Shaw was honored with a retirement reception Sunday afternoon at Taylor Regional Hospital. Hospital staff members, Campbellsville Mayor Brenda Allen and others presented Shaw with several gifts and remembrances.

    William Ray and Mattie Laverne Roberts Mings will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with a reception given in their honor on Sunday, July 18.

    Todd and Cami Caldwell of Aurora, Colo., announce the birth of a son, William Heath, at 8:39 p.m. on Thursday, May 20, at University of Colorado Hospital in Denver, Colo.

    Carolyn Blevins Beams, 45, of Vintage Lane in Campbellsville, died on Saturday, July 3, in Lebanon.

    A long-time community leader and former Taylor County Woman of the Year has died. Aileen E. McKinley, 83, of Beechwood Drive in Campbellsville, known as "Ms. Aileen," died Friday, June 25, at Metzmeier Nursing Home after an illness.

    Kelli Brooke Oschwald of Lexington and Traver Maurice Dabney of Campbellsville announce their forthcoming marriage on Saturday, July 10.

    Marsha Lynn White and Brian Nathan Black will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, July 17.

    Michael Trent Yates received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Brescia University on May 8.

    Kentucky State Police Commissioner Mark L. Miller presented Campbellsville resident Lt. Adam R. Whitlock with his promotional certificate.

    Burley farmers in western Taylor County have been hit with an early onset of blue mold, a fungal disease which spreads through the air and has the potential to completely destroy tobacco plants.

    Allyne Shreve, 83, of Diane Drive in Campbellsville, died on Sunday, June 13, 2004, in Campbellsville.

    Taylor County Relay for Life, which will begin tomorrow night at 7 p.m. and last to 8 a.m. the following morning at Taylor County High School track, will have karaoke fun for this year's participants.

    Glen and Trixie Lane of Greenhill Drive in Campbellsville will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Thursday, June 17.

    Adam Burress earned the Taylor County Farm Bureau 2004 Future Farmers of America Scholarship.

    Anthony Farris, a teacher at Campbellsville Elementary School, has been named the winner of Walmart's Teacher of the Year award.

    Wayne Wills, manager and co-owner of Holiday Inn Express, recently achieved the No. 1 rating in the world for customer satisfaction for Holiday Inn Express hotels.

    The Giles Society, a nonprofit organization, presented the seventh annual Janice Holt Giles book award to Jasma Mendez, a junior at Campbellsville High School.

    Heather Hastings and Heidi Hastings have been named to the dean's list at the University of Kentucky for the spring semester.

    Crystal Anderson has joined the Central Kentucky News-Journal as a correspondent photographer.

    Susan Horn Meacham was chosen as the 2004 Teacher of the Year for Hopkins County School System. She is the daughter of Morris and Jane Horn of Campbellsville.
