    Elbert and Louise Shofner will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, Dec. 4.

    Jessie Reagan Vance celebrated her third birthday on Oct. 31.

    Clay Hill Memorial Forest was recently named the 2005 Best Project in the Southeastern U.S. by the Southeastern Association of Resource Conservation and Development.

    Kelly Diane Cave and Gregory Dewayne Thompson exchanged wedding vows Friday, Oct. 28, at the Gatlinburg Chapel Ministries.

    Scouts representing the 25-county area of the Lincoln Heritage Council, Boy Scout of America, will assist less fortunate individuals and families by collecting non-perishable food items during the 17th Annual Scouting for Food Good Turn for America food drive in November.

    Joe and Juanita Dudgeon will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday. A reception will be given in their honor from 2 to 4 p.m. at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

    Windsor Gardens, a new assisted living community in Campbellsville, celebrated its grand opening, Friday, Oct. 14.

    Taylor County Education Association officers recently made a $200 donation to Taylor County Chamber of Commerce for its Youth Leadership Program.

    Taylor County Elementary School students and staff recently collected toys, games and school supplies for children affected by Hurricane Katrina.

    Campbellsville Baptist Church is hosting a "Sweet Hour of Prayer" revival weekend with the Rev. J. Bill Jones as the evangelist.

    Campbellsville University will celebrate Homecoming 2005 on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 21-22.

    James Maurice Mings, 75, of Smith Ridge Road in Campbellsville, died Friday, Sept. 23, 2005 in Miami, Fla., after an illness.

    Ophilia McDonald will celebrate her 95th birthday Saturday.

    Josh and Amanda Sprowles of Campbellsville announce the birth of a daughter, Aleah Jayde, at 10:14 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 19, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville.

    Southside Christian Church at 2831 Elkhorn Road will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a homecoming on Sunday, Oct. 9.

    About 250 volunteers descended on Green River Lake on Saturday to collect trash and other debris from along the lakeshore.

    Campbellsville High School will celebrate its 2005 football homecoming on Friday.

    The Crossmen of Robinson Creek Baptist Church will be in concert Sunday at Yuma Baptist Church.

    Taylor County Marching Band will host its annual invitational Saturday, Sept. 24 on the Taylor County High School football field. 12 bands are set to compete.
