  • Kreitzer, Rooke interviews to air on 'Dialogue on Public Issues'

     

    Dr. Larry Kreitzer and Dr. Deborah Rooke from Regent's Park College at Oxford University were recently interviewed on Campbellsville University's WLCU-TV for the "Dialogue on Public Issues" show.

    CU's John Chowning, vice president for church and external relations and executive assistant to the president of CU, did the interview.

  • Church to host live nativity

    Salem Baptist Church will have a live nativity at the church on Friday through Sunday, Dec. 16-18, from 6 to 8 p.m. with a special service Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

    Refreshments will be served each night. Everyone is welcome.

    Salem Church is located at 271 Salem Church Road. For more information, call 465-4544.

  • LWC to host winter commencement

    Lindsey Wilson College will honor two south central Kentucky natives and one of Kentucky's legendary civil rights leaders at this year's winter commencement, which will be on Saturday, Dec. 10.

    At the college's 94th commencement ceremony, Lindsey Wilson will award a total of 287 degrees - 154 undergraduate diplomas and 133 graduate diplomas.

    Receiving honorary doctorates from the college will be former LWC first lady Margaret McDonald, Sgt. Dakota Meyer and civil rights leader P.G. Peeples. Peeples will deliver the commencement address.

  • 'Lovely in Danger' to be performed Friday, Dec. 9

     

    The Heart of Kentucky Holiday Festival, in Lebanon and Springfield this past weekend, included a New Old-Fashioned Melodrama "Lovely In Danger" produced by Kentucky Classic Theatre.

    Featured were Lexington director G.B. Dixon, Stevie Lowery from the Lebanon Enterprise as the heroine, Andy Collie from Mike FM as the hero, Beth Overgaauw from Channel 6 TV as the auntie, Christy Carpenter of Springfield State Bank as the villainess and Lynn Farris of the former Lebanon Community Theatre as the character-changing villain.

  • CU to host fall commencement

    Campbellsville University will host its fall commencement services for 239 candidates for graduation in two separate ceremonies Friday, Dec. 16, in Ransdell Chapel.

    The ceremony for bachelor of science and bachelor of science in business administration degrees is Friday, Dec. 16, at 2 p.m. There are 106 candidates for graduation in this service.

  • Campbellsville University photography class to have exhibit

    Campbellsville University will be hosting a photography exhibit Tuesday, Dec. 6, in Susan Kirkland Tesseneer Art Studio, located at 201 University Drive.

    The students who will have works displayed are students of Susan Tesseneer-Street, adjunct instructor in art.

    Students include Nancy J. Cozby of Columbia, Patty Mings of Eastview, Takashi Okuda of Hiroshima, Japan, Alyssa Barker of Frankfort and Jessica Wafford of Hodgenville.

  • CU student art exhibit begins Dec. 5

    Campbellsville University student Patty Mings of Eastview, Ky., will host an art exhibit, beginning Monday, Dec. 5, and continuing through Thursday, Dec. 15, in the Campbellsville University Art Gallery.

    The artwork will consist of graphite, pen and ink, pastels (soft and oils), colored pencil, watercolor, ceramics, 3-D design and photographs.

    A reception for Mings will be Saturday, Dec. 10, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the gallery. The public is invited.

  • CU theater department performing improv

    Ever wanted to see a movie idea acted out? Like the show "Whose Line is it Anyway?"

    Come to the Campbellsville University Russ Mobley Theater on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. to see Central Kentucky's greatest comedy improv group, according to Matt Nall, assistant to the director of theater, Starr Garrett.

    The Harlequins will perform their show "Harlequins: Behind the Curtain."

    Admission is free.

    The Campbellsville University String Ensemble will be giving its fall concert on Monday, Dec. 5, at 8 p.m. in The Gheens Recital Hall of the Gosser Fine Arts Center, located at 210 University Drive.
