  • CU plans art scholarship competition

    Campbellsville University is searching for talented high school seniors to compete for two art scholarships worth a total of $6,000 each.

    The university's annual art scholarship competition and workshop will be Saturday, March 31, beginning at 10 a.m. in Room 100 of the Art Building at 205A University Drive, across from Gosser Fine Arts Center, on campus.

  • CU to host Michael Johnson of 'Future Marriage University'

    Since 2003, Michael Johnson and his wife, Julie, have pursued a unique passion for preparing college students and smart singles for success in their future marriages.

    Johnson will be speaking at Campbellsville University's chapel service on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 10 a.m. at Ransdell Chapel. Everyone is invited to the free event.

  • Support group to meet for those raising grandchildren

    GAP is a support group formed for those in Taylor County who are raising their grandchildren or nieces, nephews, cousins and others.

    The group will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Taylor County Extension Office.

    The Campbellsville Family Resource and Youth Services Center, the Taylor County Youth Services Center and the Taylor County Family Resource Center are sponsoring the group.

    The meeting is free and activities will be planned, as well as discussion. Food will be provided and door prizes will be given away.

  • CU organ recital is Feb. 21

    The next Campbellsville University School of Music noon organ recital will be Tuesday, Feb. 21, from 12:20 to 12:50 p.m. in Ransdell Chapel. The recital will feature Shiloh Roby, associate director of music at Christ Church Cathedral in Cincinnati, Ohio.

    Roby will play on the 1894 Farrand and Votey Pipe Organ that was enlarged and rebuilt by Moller, Pilcher and Milnar Organ Companies. It has three manuals, pedalboard and 51 ranks.

  • Williams interview to air on 'Dialogue on Public Issues'

     

    Dr. Jarvis Williams, assistant professor of New Testament and Greek at Campbellsville University, was recently interviewed on CU's WLCU-TV for the "Dialogue on Public Issues" show.

    John Chowning, vice president for church and external relations and executive assistant to the president of CU, did the interview. The discussion centered on teaching in the School of Theology, racial reconciliation and Williams's new book, "One New Man."

  • Tickets on sale for CU production of 'The Importance of Being Earnest'

    Tickets for Campbellsville University's theater production "The Importance of Being Earnest," a Victorian-era comedy by Oscar Wilde, are now on sale.

    Show times and dates of the show are as follows: Thursday, Feb. 23; Friday, Feb. 24, and Saturday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m., and a Sunday, Feb. 26, performance at 3 p.m.

    The play will be performed in the Russ Mobley Theater of the Alumni Building.

  • CU valentine pageant is Feb. 10

    Campbellsville University will host the 70th Annual Valentine Pageant on Friday, Feb. 10, at 7 p.m. in Ransdell Chapel.

    The event is free and open to the public.

    Nine students will be participating in the "Silly Love Songs" themed pageant this year for a chance to move on to the Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival in Pineville this May.

  • CU orchestra to perform Feb. 14

    The Campbellsville University Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. J. Robert Gaddis, dean of the School of Music, and Wansoo Cho, instructor in music, will present a concert featuring Campbellsville University faculty and graduate students on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 8 p.m. in the Ransdell Chapel.

  • CU to hear 'What Would Ronald Reagan Say in 2012?'

    Campbellsville University will host Doug Bandow, senior fellow at the Cato Institute, who will speak on "What Would Ronald Reagan Say in 2012?" as a part of Campbellsville University's Kentucky Heartland Institute on Public Policy events at 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9.

    The event will be in the banquet hall of the Badgett Academic Support Center. The public is invited to attend.

    Williams is senior pastor of Bates Memorial Church in Louisville and led CU's annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Worship Celebration.
