  • Health department offers insurance enrollment help

    Lake Cumberland District Health department, to which the Taylor County Health Department belongs, is offering help for residents to enroll in kynect health insurance.

    To speak to a kynect enrollment specialist, call (855) 762-1227 or the Taylor County Health Department at (270) 465-4191.

    The next open enrollment begins Nov. 15.

  • Goodwill partners with local Red Cross

    Goodwill is partnering with the local Red Cross organization to raise money to help families.

    For every pound of items the public donates to Goodwill on behalf of Red Cross, the organization will donate 23 cents to the local Red Cross. The money will be deposited into a bank account and Red Cross organizers will use the money to issue Goodwill certificates to families they help in emergencies. Those taking items to Goodwill on behalf of Red Cross must mention the group when donating.

    All donations to Goodwill are tax deductible.

  • Fourth of July photo contest entries sought

    Campbellsville's Fourth of July celebration will once again feature an amateur photo contest sponsored by Orthodyne Physical Therapy.

    Organizers encourage amateur and professional photographers who wish to participate to pick up their cameras now and start taking photos.

  • National Guard officials seeking names of the fallen

    Kentucky National Guard Memorial officials need help from those who know a member of the Kentucky National Guard who died in the line of duty.

    Officials are asking families and friends of the fallen to contact them and provide them with names.

  • Summer theater series beginning soon

    Campbellsville University Theater and Town Hall Productions recently announced its summer series. Featured shows will include Hamlet in the Park, Hansel and Gretel and Fiddler on the Roof.

    Auditions for the Fiddler on the Roof performance are April 24, 25 and 26 at Russ Mobley Theater on the CU campus.

    Auditions are open to anyone in the community and will be from 5 to 8 p.m. April 24 and April 25. Callbacks are April 26.

  • Gospel singing is Sunday, June 28

    The 16th annual Campbellsville/Taylor County Fourth of July Celebration gospel singing will be Sunday, June 28, at 6:30 p.m. at Campbellsville Baptist Church.

    The Noblemen, 4-Given and Joymakers will perform at the free event. The public is invited to attend.

  • Yard sale to raise money for Red Cross

    American Red Cross will host a yard sale at Lowell Avenue Baptist Church's civic center on Saturday, June 21, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the Taylor County Red Cross Disaster Team.

    All donations are welcome.

  • Antique tractor show is June 21

    The 18th annual Russell Creek/Homeplace on Green River Antique Gas Engine and Tractor Show will be at The Homeplace on Green River on Saturday, June 21, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    There is no admission fee, though there will be a fee for food from vendors.

    The show will include a variety of antique tractors on display and some will participate in contests and a tractor parade. There will also be awards in several categories. Last year's show attracted more than 40 tractors.

  • Claycomb to celebrate 90th birthday

     

    Conrad Claycomb of Campbellsville, a former World War II prisoner of war, will celebrate his 90th birthday with a celebration on Sunday, June 15.

    His children will host the event at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church fellowship hall from 2 to 4 p.m. The family requests no gifts, but cards are welcome.

  • Openings available for 4-H camp

    Openings are still available for girls wanting to attend 4-H camp on June 24-27 at Lake Cumberland.

    According to the Taylor County Extension Office, applications will be accepted through Wednesday, June 18. Cost to attend is $175.
