  • Health department offers insurance enrollment help

    Lake Cumberland District Health department, to which the Taylor County Health Department belongs, is offering help for residents to enroll in kynect health insurance.

    To speak to a kynect enrollment specialist, call (855) 762-1227 or the Taylor County Health Department at (270) 465-4191.

    The next open enrollment begins Nov. 15.

  • Goodwill partners with local Red Cross

    Goodwill is partnering with the local Red Cross organization to raise money to help families.

    For every pound of items the public donates to Goodwill on behalf of Red Cross, the organization will donate 23 cents to the local Red Cross. The money will be deposited into a bank account and Red Cross organizers will use the money to issue Goodwill certificates to families they help in emergencies. Those taking items to Goodwill on behalf of Red Cross must mention the group when donating.

    All donations to Goodwill are tax deductible.

  • National Guard officials seeking names of the fallen

    Kentucky National Guard Memorial officials need help from those who know a member of the Kentucky National Guard who died in the line of duty.

    Officials are asking families and friends of the fallen to contact them and provide them with names.

  • 'Guys and Dolls' to be performed at CU

     

    Kentucky Classic Theatre will present "Guys and Dolls" in Russ Mobley Theater at Campbellsville University on July 31 through Aug. 2 at 7:30 p.m.

    The show features local and professional actors/singers, as well as a live orchestra.

  • Smoke-Free road trip comes to Campbellsville

    Smoke-Free Kentucky is going on a road trip and will be making stops across the state on the way to the annual Fancy Farm Picnic.

    A special Smoke-Free Kentucky van will be decked out and crossing the commonwealth through Saturday.

    The bus will be in Campbellsville today, Thursday, July 31, at 11 a.m. on East Main Street.

    Smoke-Free Kentucky officials will work toward making 2015 the year to pass a comprehensive, smoke-free workplace law.

  • 'Fiddler on the Roof' performed July 3-6

    Campbellsville University and Town Hall Productions will present "Fiddler on the Roof" on July 3-6 at Russ Mobley Theater in the Alumni building on Campbellsville University's campus.

    The show will be presented Thursday, July 3, at 7 p.m., Friday, July 4, at 6 p.m., Saturday, July 5, at 2:30 and 7 p.m. and Sunday, July 6, at 2:30 p.m.

  • Gospel singing is Sunday, June 28

    The 16th annual Campbellsville/Taylor County Fourth of July Celebration gospel singing will be Sunday, June 28, at 6:30 p.m. at Campbellsville Baptist Church.

    The Noblemen, 4-Given and Joymakers will perform at the free event. The public is invited to attend.

  • Annual tractor show planned for July 4

    The 25th annual Community Trust Bank tractor show is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, July 4, on First Street near the Taylor County Courthouse.

    The event will feature antique tractors, gas engines, old farm equipment and toys for sale. The show is open to anyone, and those with antique tractors can also participate in the Fourth of July parade.

    Those who wish to participate in the parade should meet at Water Tower Bypass. Signs will be posted. The parade begins at 10 a.m. Registration for the show will begin after the parade.

  • Bruckheimer to sign books in Bloomfield

    Film and television producer Jerry Bruckheimer will come to Bloomfield next month to sign copies of his book "Jerry Bruckheimer: When Lightning Strikes - Four Decades of Filmmaking."

    According to a news release, the book commemorates the uber producer's entire body of work, including such blockbusters as "Top Gun," "Beverly Hills Cop," "Armageddon," the "Pirates of the Caribbean" films as well as television's "CSI" shows and "The Amazing Race."

  • Yard sale to raise money for Red Cross

    American Red Cross will host a yard sale at Lowell Avenue Baptist Church's civic center on Saturday, June 21, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the Taylor County Red Cross Disaster Team.

    All donations are welcome.
