  • Clean Taylor County is April 26

    A Clean Taylor County event will be Friday, April 26, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the paved back parking lot of the former Fruit of the Loom building.

    Those attending should enter and exit off West Main Street only. Signs will be posted.

    There may be a long line of those dropping off unwanted items, so organizers ask that those attending be patient and watch for traffic and workers.

    Those wishing to drop off items must be in line before 4 p.m.

  • CU's veterans group to present program by 'Wounded Warrior'

    Campbellsville University's Semper Paratus Severe, the veterans’ club at CU, will present a program on post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury and service dogs at 7 p.m. Friday, April 5, in Ransdell Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.

  • Color to Conquer is Saturday

     

    It's a way to fight obesity and cancer, and get a little color.

    Those passing by Miller Park on March 16 might see something a bit unusual. People will be sprayed with colored cornstarch as they compete in a 5K walk and run.

    And the event will raise money to fight two causes, obesity and children's cancer.

    Campbellsville's "Color to Conquer" walk and 5K run will be Saturday, March 16, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Miller Park. Registration begins at 7 a.m.

  • CU plans anti-slavery and sex trafficking campaign

    Campbellsville University's International Justice Mission Club has organized a week, March 11-15, dedicated to standing up against modern-day slavery and sex trafficking.

    The International Justice Mission is one of the coalition partners for the End-It-Movement, a campaign to help raise awareness and end slavery and human trafficking.

  • CU searching for 'grandparents' for 'Adopt-a-Grandparent' Day

    The annual "Adopt-a-Grandparent" Day is Tuesday, April 16.

    Campbellsville University English as a Second Language students are volunteering their time to help senior citizens with household projects in Taylor County.

    Last year more than 70 students participated. This year, the ESL Department hopes to find 12 to 15 senior citizens who would like eager students to help them with their household duties.

  • CU to stage 'Much Ado About Nothing'

     

    Campbellsville University will host a performance of "Much Ado About Nothing" on Feb. 21-24.

    The Shakespeare comedy will be performed by the Campbellsville University Theater department Feb. 21-23 at 7 p.m. and Feb. 24 at 3 p.m. in the Russ Mobley Theater of the Alumni Building.

    General admission is $5. Call 789-5266 for reservations.

  • Campbellsville University plans 'CU at the Maple Trail' Alumni Day

    Campbellsville University will host "CU at the Maple Trail," an alumni event sponsored by the Board of Alumni, on Saturday, Feb. 23.

    Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. in the new Books n Beans located in the Bright-Redmon Student Commons inside Montgomery Library.

  • Kentucky Classic Theatre to present 'The Desperate Director'

     

    Kentucky Classic Theatre will present a trove of heroes, heroines and villains in its production of "The Desperate Director," opening Thursday, Jan. 3, at Campbellsville University's Gheens Recital Hall.

    The play will be performed Thursday, Jan. 3, through Saturday, Jan. 5, at 7 p.m. Tickets at the door are $8 for adults and $5 for children. Seating is limited.

  • Woman's Club to host home tour

     

    Campbellsville Women's Club will host its home tour from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at any participating home or from any club member.

    Proceeds will go toward scholarship for graduates from Campbellsville and Taylor County high schools.

    Directions to the locations on the tour will be printed on tickets.

  • Extension office offers piggy bank pageants

    Taylor County Extension Office is offering a chance to go "hog wild" and celebrate the Kentucky Saves initiative.

    Residents can use their creativity to make a piggy bank and save their change.

    Banks in Taylor County are hosting preliminary pageants for separate age groups.

    Take a "piggy bank" to one of the locations below by Dec. 3 for display and judging.

    After Dec. 3, winners from each group will be taken to the Taylor County Extension Office where a county winner will be selected.
